Veterans challenging Obama on legitimacy, constitutionality

Declaring that the "time for talking has passed," organizers of a peaceful rally scheduled for Veteran's Day in Washington are demanding the resignation of Barack Obama along with other members of his administration.

The rally is being assembled around the issues contained in a Declaration to Restore the Constitutional Republic, which sets out the goals of the organizing groups, which include the Veteran Defenders of America and its parent organization, The United States Patriots Union.

The events are scheduled to begin at the Washington Monument at 6 a.m. and continue at points around Washington, D.C., throughout the day. How many people are expected isn't being released, nor is the membership information for the "member-only" organizations.

The organizations have issued a code of conduct for the events, calling for peaceful protest and resistance. And while they acknowledge they are not likely to have the resignations in hand by the end of that day, they say there is a very important reason to rally.

"We have to start somewhere," said Timothy Harrington, cofounder of the Patriots Union. "We are hoping to show D.C. insiders that the people have had enough. That the time for talking has passed and the time for serious action to save this nation has arrived."

Peaceful... for how long. But seriously, can you win anything peacefully when you have in front of you the biggest murderers in recent history? Not Obama, not congress, but what they represent, the elite.

"Every member of every branch of government has taken an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution and the people of the United States and it's high time we see which of them is ready to live up to that oath."

Because Bush did the same thing doesn't excuse Obama continuing the same BS. Sorry.

Otherwise they wouldn't be veterans.

Sadly it is all misguided. Aside from foreign policy and war you can blame most all of this mess and the do nothing government on CONGRESS. Presidents really can't do ANYTHING without support and the votes of Congress. Obama wasted a rare opportunity in his first two year where his party owned the Congress and got little to nothing done. Now the congress is a broken mess. We can get nothing done at all with a divided congress.

On the other hand Presidents do have power when it comes to using the military as you can see with both Bush and Obama. Congress in general seems unwilling to challenge any presidents wills when it comes to war and foreign policy.

Occupy Congress.

Ultimately "We the People" are to blame for continuing to elect encumbents and politicians who are bought and sold. Next time you vote just ignore the guys at the top and vote for one of the obscure names at the bottom.

I doubt it's anything more than a made up attempt to hop on the increasingly popular Occupy Movement. That dude is a sad sad man.

I would like to see these vets tell a bunch of OWS vets to go get a job .

maybe they will have a calm political discussion?

Those veterans are just starting. We'll see ``real action`` when the stupids in congress cut their benefits... willingly or not. It's gonna happen. Bet on it.
