Flag and stars causing pages to reload entirely

I'm on a work proxy so have to deal with a slower connection, this becomes really apparent when I flag or star a post, it seems the entire page has to reload. I see more and more CMS' and forum applications now avoid having entire page reloads when a post is rated, can't this be done here?

Actually it seems like ATS would want to make the star system work without reloading the whole page, if it would cut back on the bandwidth they have to serve.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Don't remember it doing that awhile ago.

The technology that allows you to do/change things on a web page without the page needing to reload and which has become very popular on modern web sites is called Ajax.
It could easily be programmed using one of the popular Javascript frameworks, like jQuery. And yes, it would save A LOT of bandwidth!

I have to agree, I have a good high-speed connection, but clicking a star or flag is a real drag. Anything that keeps a page from having to reload entirely is good - Ajax, or jQuery.

Its been this way for as long as I can remember.

And yes. It sucks.

It kept me from flagging and starring for half a year because of the very expensive mobile connection I used to have this summer. I hope ATS does something with this.
