I Will Not Be Able To Support UK Troops If They Go To War With Iran.

I don't know how other feel abou supporting our troops, but I personally won't be able to. If we go to war with Iran it will be totally illegal (yet again). I understand our troops are brainwashed to blindly follow orders to chase machine guns down, but this is no excuse. If our troops carry out am attack on Iran it will be no diffrent than when Nazi Germany invaded poland and other countries. This makes our troops no better than the nazi storm troopers of the 1940s.

I would like to know how others feel on this subject and if they will offer support and why.

Me neither, the whole "troops are heroes" thing is just brainwashing from TPTB. They are not heroes, they are a willing participant in a war for oil/resources and if they had any morality, theyd refuse to fight.

The last time I had any respect for the armed forces was in the Falklands war, incidentally a war the the US bottled out of so we went it alone. Defending UK citizens is a world apart from fighting for corporate or US interests.

I would break down and cry if the military went on strike after being ordered to Iran. I would seriously book a flight to the UK and spend a year hugging each of them...

I will be very interested to see all the replies to this thread. America, the UK and Israel all seem to be getting ready for war. Angela Merkel is perceiving Iran as a threat to Europe (is that why she mentioned that peace in the EU would be compromised if no economic unity could be achieved? After all, without economic unity, no huge European Defense Force).

Some commentators think Merkel was uttering threatening words to fellow European nations, but I doubt it. The real threat is perceived to be coming from Iran going nuclear so that Jerusalem can be destroyed, thus bringing their Mahdi closer. It's the worst thing imaginable in European leaders' minds.

Would you be willing to fight this war? I'm very curious what everyone thinks.

Hi this is your British government speaking here, could you repeat that as it went in one ear and then out of the other, did you think that because we 'dub' this government a 'democracy' that your views and opinions meant anything at all to us?

You may not be the government, but you have their script down perfectly.

I just don't get the preoccupation with Iran. Iran will change to become more democratic sooner or later anyway - the majority of the population is under 30 and likes western things, ergo no need to invade for regime change as it will come about naturally.

I always support our troops. I don't always support our governments.......

So big deal your not going to wave your flag . You still have to pay taxes and that's the only support your government cares about. The soldiers who have no choice are the ones that need moral support so go ahead and poop on them because you have no real understanding of what is important. Pick on the little guy , if you had any real bawls you tell your government to stuff it not the little guy.

I Think its funny, how every one i know, is 100% against this. Saying they wont support the government, saying how this is wrong.

Yet the elite get away with it. I hope this will be the trigger (Although i hope more that the sistuation does not escelate to war) mass protests and even strikes across the western world.

Soldiers do have a choice. It's called plant your feet and don't board the planes and boats. It's called "lets see if the UK can jail their entire army"... It's called a strike..

I have friends serving in different areas of the B.A..So the UK troops have always had my support.

But going to war with Iran is NOT in the UK's best interests..Regardless of us being close allies with America.

We have so many problems on the homefront as it is..& going into yet, another unnecessary war would not bode well, for the public IMO.

Whilst I sometimes question sometimes the morality of going to war & "serving your country".. I cannot say that I don't stand behind the countries troops 100%.

After all, it's our sons, daughters, cousins, nephews & grandchildren that are out there.

What's the difference between being shot for not going to Iran, and being shot IN Iran?? Let me know. Troops WILL die in Iran. I doubt they'd shoot everybody. It wouldn't be a bad idea for somebody to get in touch with a couple of soldiers and try to get them to organize a strike.

simple solution for the support troops dilemma, find troops who will be opposed to the system and support them. it wont be like it was in 03 where the country wanted to go to war. as a nation we are war out ha ha

thanks! but im only portraying it exactly how it is and has been for 400 years in british politics, the lords run our country and we cant touch them, the lords are also made up of all those lovely Prime ministers and Cabinet minsters of previous tyrannous governments, Aristocrats, Bankers and religious leaders, the lords either pass or bin the house of commons bills, only the money bill can bypass the lords.

So what does this mean to you and i? what it means is even if a radical party gains governing power, every bill passed will be binned as it will not follow the ideals of the lords who are made up of non-radicals.

The only way to change this is to take out the lords and they wont budge without a coup d'etat

Also we are not a democratic nation but instead a 'Constitutional monarchy' which means both the royal family and us have limited jurisdiction over our government.

Neither will a lot of people which is why the War with Iran will be lost by the UK, US and Israeli Alliance

First off I am a veteran and put my butt on the line for people to have their say. The difference is that dying in a battle with honor yes honor is a whole lot different dying at home in a cell with dishonor and if you have family it brings the punishment on them.

Second and more importantly Iran is the big bad wolf . Islam is the new communism , just like the soviet bloc wanted a world of communism to pay homage to the government . Islam wants a world to pay homage to Allah and sharia law for all an if one can not see this they are blind. THE LEADERSHIP OF IRAN WANTS WAR , they want the MAHADI to return and force Islam or the sword on all no more no less.

Tosh - read through volumes of Hansard. The House of Lords is a balancing act on the House of Commons and has been responsible for throwing out all sorts of stupid policies over the centuries. It is actually a less effective balance now since New Labour started tinkering with it!
