Heheh,we were typing at the same time nightowl.I sure would like for once to see one of these stories hold,but for me personally,I believe they are already here visiting.It just would be nice to see some official validation.

This sounds a lot like "nothing to see here, move along folks." Then while no one is looking they jump up and down with joy over what they found.

Could it be a cover up so people don't become panic, and if the first reports if true and is moving could it be something approaching our solar system?

I am from PR and I remember when I was a teen I used to spy on the Arecibo dish with my cousins just for fun at the time to us was alien itself.

Old good times when imagination runs wild.

I hope is true and something is out there and getting closer to us.

It certainly could be a cover up,or it could have been a case of someone jumping the gun and things getting out of hand.

BTW,being from Puerto Rico,I'm sure you've heard your share of stories!That's quite an active region of strangeness!

A race that is capable of projecting whole images to your brain then it is possible that they are testing us.
Of course I would like to know the source of the signal since they are telling it is insignificant. Anyway sending a signal to Earth?
What could distinct an alien signal? Why Scientists were at first so jumpy about it and then so sceptical? What made them change their mind?
Some people say that it is the first impression that counts, especially from people that have a lot of experience in these matters, if you see them jumping this means that sth is out there. There are lots of cases which for the shake of sth else sth mudt be diminished, lets hope that the poor jumpy Scientists are not going to be made to go out and apologize for feeling that sth is true.
Anyway some poor people out there on a state of denial (nice term in Psychology right? ;-).

Yes my family live in the rain forest area and I remember that people was afraid to go into the forest at night because a lot of weird things, plus it was a lot of sightings in the area also, form our balcony at home we use to wash moving lights over el Junque (national forest) and my brother and a friends when they were about 16 they venture at night to see what was going on at the government testing place they use to have in the forest. I think is still there. And they got caught but nothing happened to them. When they came home escorted by the police for trespassing they said it was a lot of people dress in white outfits taking small cages from vans.

The chupacabras started to show soon after that but now that we are all adult we talk about it and think is was all the imagination.

But also a lot of people and children used to get lost in the area, and that area is not that big.

The island is full of superstition so you kind of let yourself be absorved by this myths and tales.

This was broadcast on the TV news in Australia, I saw it on 3 channels at roughly the same time.

Channel Ten even seemed to play the signal that was found.

If what they played was the signal then it DEFINATELY is from intelligent life. This signal had a damn melody to it, it scaled and wasn't random or anything like that. I'm trying to find a link to the sound but nothing found yet.

TextI believe that at the end they announce that this signal is some kind of physical phenomeno.All the discussions began after the announcement from the media, this means that the April that was discovered, the most of us, we did't knew anything about it.Now they are checking it and let's suppose that comes from an alien civilization, the people involved in such situations from the goverment, they will silence the evidence, and keep the informations about themselfs because i don't thing that any goverment would like to share the profits that will come in the near future from technological informations that may exchange.And secondly no one would like to panic the the half population of the planet saying that we found artificial intelligence.Thing the example of Bin Laden and how many people affraid from this situation.Now imagine all this people telling that out of our planet there is aliens!
So the most possible scenario is to announce that is a physical phenomeno.

Marg-Have you heard of the Amaury Rivera abduction case?There was also another case in PR where several F-14 Tomcats were trying to pursue a huge Triangle craft,and two of the Tomcats supposedly disappeared in front of close to 100 witnesses.I have heard strange stories of chupacabras and other weird creatures witnessed roaming around PR as well.

Right, this BBC article released at 12:30pm yesterday states,

"It's all hype and noise," said its chief scientist, Dr Dan Wertheimer. "We have nothing that is unusual. It's all out of proportion."

Another article released on Yahoo news by Reuters less than half an hour previously tells otherwise. The same signal has been picked up on 3 seperate occasions from the same point, apparently on the frequency most likely to be used by ETs to transmit.

With just 23 minutes between the release of the two articles, it seems the scientists, and the media, changed their minds rather quickly...

No I have not but occurs I left the Island many years ago, but I am going to ask my mom about it and see if is anything is going on over there.

And yes it was a lot of missing people in the woods over there as I was growing up. But occurs people always came out with all kind of excuses about it. See the area is not big but very dense in tropical foliage and trees that you can see only on this type of forest.

Both of those cases were heavily investigated by researcher Jorge Martin,I'm sure he probably has a web-site somewhere.
