If your own country won't try and convict him, then why should MY country spend the money to do so?

Bush isn't subject to Canada's laws. This is just a dog and pony show to serve as a distraction. It won't happen, that's the bottom line.

Bush is subject to international laws. Canada is signatory to the international criminal court and actually can put people from other countries in trial, in Canada, under our obligations for the ICC.

In fact, we are already conducting a temporary war crime tribunal against at least one guy, taking place in Montreal (he is from Africa though, not the US).

The whole point of my opening post is that Canadian people want Bush tried under the ICC, especially the four ex-Guatanamo detainees who pressed the charges. The article clearly points out that the charges were put to court, but federal elements in the Canadian government canned it without following procedure or due process.

Obviously it was going to happen, but it doesn't make the situation any less significant. It proves Western hypocracy, you know, the same hypocracy that we employed to bomb Libya and virtually kill Ghaddafi while we, the people, are told that it's all just a humanitarian mission and we are helping them.

In other words, the law system is in their hands and this is proof of it to spread around to show how corrupt our leaders are. Things like this are not to be forgotten.

Well explained,
Although I have to say, American politics and power have a habit of suiting themselves when it comes to international law.

Only the guilty protect the guilty.
If This was halted, then the investigators need to take a look at the person or persons directly responsible, and Im sure they will find issues that are directly relevant.
Then charge them as well.

If thei simply goes away, thej it's obvious it's a dog and pony show to demonstrate that top tier Govt officials are truely above recourse.

Lets look at international law. It only takes betrayal by an economic based major civil riot to remove the U.S. constitution and place it with others under U.N. control. Under U.N. law is based pubic law 102-14 Noahide law that requires beheading after only a few questions asked. In this case you would spend about a year in a camp and on order would be the beheading of millions of Christians and etc. by guillotines they have stored up in these locations over the world. The killing zone would only be these countries however embolden after would start a world take over. Clearly any country with these (FEMA) camps about 25% of the world would be part of this group in the killing zone and others not. So you can see *the plan* taking place right under your eyes.

I disagree, only to point out that they remove them from power not because they broke the law, but because they were caught doing it!
Breaking the law never seems to be the issue for politicians in the west. Making sure they don't get caught red handed is the only one that matters for them.

Because OUR country should have the gonads to stand up for what is right. Regrettably with citizens that are more worried about pointing fingers and not taking responsibility as a citizen of this world, like you seem to be, the push will not come to do what is right. Also, whilst we have the Harper Government (HIS OWN PHRASEOLOGY), you will not see any dissension towards the global elites.

Very true. This is why I see this case as being important since it is proof of how Western warcriminals get away with their crimes. I have studied many more instances of Western warcrimes so the concept of Western commander committing a warcrime is not new to me, but alot of people in this thread (and in general) act defeatist in nature because they think this is the way that it is and we should do nothing. I cannot morally agree with that.

Another defeatist

1) As a matter of fact, people already have indicted George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and hopefully Condie Rice too. Even in my article it states one example where Bush was indicted for warcrimes in Sweden so he cancelled his trip there. Belgium also indicted these commanders, but rescinded after the US threatened Belgium that it would remove NATO HQ from Brussels for pursuing international justice.

2) I happen to study international law, and at this very time with my focus on Western warcrimes and the lack of prosecution. I take it that you haven't spent much time in such academic fields with your level of grammar. Perhaps if you did, you may "try and figure that out" that when you're asked by your above-the-law commanders to bendover and "live with the facts of life", that your instinct would be to stand up to them. And just because they are raping others and not you at the moment doesn't make it right to just sit back and accept it either.

BadNinja68-
Only the guilty protect the guilty.

So very true in this case. For you see, Canada too has committed warcrimes in Afghanistan when we hand over our prisoners of war over to Afghan officials, knowing full well that they will be tortured by them. This is a warcrime. If Bush is tried for mistreatment of detainees, then it leaves Canadian commanders especially vulnerable to similar charges.

And then there's the whole Omar Khadr fiasco (warcrimes in itself; 1) you can't charge a child soldier; 2) you can't charge enemies in combat of committing warcrimes, which is what the US is doing; 3) Torture 4) various other factors including the denial of habeus corpus, and not even complying with the established conditions of the plea bargin which includes bring Khadr back to Canada three days ago but won't happen until he "agrees to abandon any further constitutional challenges").

All in all, Canada is implicated too and that's probably the top reason why they shot the case down. Obviously NAFTA and NATO obligations played instrumental roles too.

Lets try and put some Common Sense Behind This.
You think a bunch of Bleeding Heart Liberal, Lets Not Kill A Cockroach Bunch of Lawyers Are Going To Arrest
The Past or Current POTUS.
Common Sense Dictates:

A spokesman for Bush indicated that the trip was cancelled due to the risk of violent protests, not in response to the risk of arrest. While some media sources seemed skeptical about whether this was true, Swiss authorities have indicated that Bush would be immune from prosecution - a claim disputed by groups such as Amnesty International and the Center for Constitutional Reform. If the prosecutors who would be responsible for arresting Bush say he is immune from prosecution, it seems unlikely that any arrest will be in his future.

Here are some quotes from your Messiahs Book.
You'll please notice how Obama does not likes to be shown as part of his Mother Race.

“Dreams of My Father,” B. Hussein writes: “I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.

“I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.

OK, How about his thoughts on Muslims?

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” The quote comes from page 261 of the paperback edition of “The Audacity of Hope.

“I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.

And how about?

B. Hussein writes in “Dreams of My Father” that “it remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.

PASTOR WRIGHT, OBAMA'S MENTOR OF OVER 20 YEARS, CALLS ISRAEL "ILLEGAL, GENOCIDAL," URGES BLACKS TO DISAVOW THEIR COUNTRY

The President of the United States sat in this demagogue's pew for twenty years. Twenty years he smiled, clapped, lauded and named his book after one of this man's sermons. No one would care about another KKK-like inciter to hate, but when that agitator is a close adviser to the POTUS, it takes on a whole other sinister dimension.

That just about says it all

Obama is most certainly not a socialist. He also doesn't seem to be working very well for the Muslim interest by threatening to invade Iran and bombing Yemen and Libya.

Though if you were smart, you could play the card where US presidential campaign funding can come from ANY anonymous corporation within the US in unlimited amounts. His campaign could have been fronted by any private interest willing to set up front companies to pour money into his campaign. You can think Muslim all you want, but realistically he seems to be doing exactly what Israel wants, and Israel has a vast lobby force in the US.

And why are you quoting "my messiah's book"? Do I appear to you as someone who adheres to religion? Because I make my own path; I am my own shepard.
