This poll just goes to show how unintelligent the average member of the public is. Some people really do not have a clue. I'm not Jewish nor from Israel but I can tell who are more sensible, tolerant people. Here's two points for you.

1. If Israel were left alone by the baying Arabs and not threatened, there would be no conflict in that area of the world. It would be peaceful.
2. If Israel just carried on and ignored the threat to it, the Arabs would quite happily see the place annihilated and they're quite open about the fact.

Not only do we have this recent poll that has proven that the world thinks Israel is a threat to peace, we also have previous polls saying the exact same thing.

Please forgive me if I have misinterpreted your post, but it seems you are implying that the problem is with Israel's neighbors and not Israel itself.

These were only a few examples that prove Israel cannot get along with their neighbors. Sure some of their neighbors aren't the friendliest people on the block but at least they use peaceful diplomatic channels in their interactions. Meanwhile Israel has constantly been spitting in the faces of their neighbors while claiming to reach their hand in peace.

The thing I do know (so I think) is that Europe was allot less "officially" involved in this Israel business about 10 years ago.
It feels that now when allot of muslims have moved to European countries, the European people are suddenly forced to take a side in this Palestine/Israel conflict. You agree?

When I was young, jews were very liked in all European countries I have been to, but these latest years I feel that the hate for jews in general is growing each month... It scares me.
So why is that, because more people are learning about zionists or because muslims are spreading hate against jews?

Speaking as an "average U.S. citizen" the whole Middle East-Israel-Palestinian-West Bank-Gaza Strip-Muslim-Jewish subject is a confusing quagmire of he-said-she-said. The average ATSer may understand it more, but for the life of me I can't get a handle on where I should stand on this subject.

Who is trying to kill who over there? Seems as if they are all equally aggressive towards each other to me...so much hate, fear, distrust and intolerance.

I work with several Jewish people (who take being Jewish very seriously, visit Israel several times a year and such) and they seem like good, regular people to me, no horns or anything that I can tell. Also quite a few Muslims work with me as well (who take their culture/religion just as seriously) also all very nice people. We all get along here in Baltimore just fine.

Do people not understand the spiritual connection between Israel and America, even the Germans trade with Israel they are part of the spiritual blessing in which God helps us to prosper. Those who directly oppose Israel will fall by the sword like it or not they will live in harsh conditions in which they think the rest of man should live by which by no means equals freedom in their part. People are not getting the bigger picture and yes God will use Israel in which nations will fall because people are too stubborn to recognise its importance.

God will use nations against nations when they try and wipe his message out and prevent his own coming, without knowing it people and nations are gearing up against him.

Many Europeans are Christians. They have their "holy book" named "Bible". It is in fact redacted compendium of Jewish religious texts. As I see it European identity is partially buildt on Jewish heritage. If "Europe has always disliked anything Jewish", then Europeans hate themselves (that is true, but in different manner).

Israel as not at fault. It's simply protecting itself. Every nation desires national security and has a right to it. If ANYBODY is wrong then it was the UN. The UN created Israel in 1948 amidst a large arab population. The reasoning was that Jews deserved to have some of that land back and needed a country of their own. At least, that's how I understand it. To make a long story short, most of the arabs did not like it and have been attacking Israel ever since. The primary reason they did not like it was because the UN terminated its plans for a two-state answer.

I've made many posts relating to Israel, lately. Hamas is a big big problem right now for them, along with Syria, Lebanon, Iran and other arab nations. As I see it, Israel has every right to protect itself. It cannot be secure if it's under constant attack. It's only doing what ANY nation would do in its predicament - fight back and attempting to take land to increase its own security.

Now, several of those countries will have a sizeable amount of their population who follow the Muslim faith - which country do you think they would be likely to dislike if asked? I'll give you a clue, probably Israel.

What do you think that actually means?

I love how Israel and all their watchdog organizations (who else has that many?) act outraged about the results of this poll, however, they just announced two days ago how they were going to "speed up" the construction of an additional 2,000 units.
