We know about these stories from bits here and there in the Bible and elsewhere. These are clues to the larger mystery of where we are on earth and
where we are headed. These mysteries can only be fully known by reading the Bible with a mind for the larger picture. First, baptism is immersion
into the water of the body. The temple is the mind where the spirit of God resides with our soul. The veil to the temple entrance is placed there to
keep us from knowing our previous estate before our soul was placed in the material world. When Jesus was raised, He said that the veil was torn.
This indicates that we are now able to see bits and pieces past our lack of knowledge. This entire story is tied to the Garden story in Genesis 3
where God instructed man on the fruit of knowledge.
Essentially, if we reached out our minds to knowledge in pride, by our own efforts, then our search for understanding would be in toil and labor. If
we allowed God to give us the fruit in humility, we would have been able to learn by following instead of taking. Knowledge is a gift. The Garden is
our womb of development.
I cannot read the Bible to you here, so you will need to read it yourself. As you do, keep in mind that all the stories in the Bible are on two
levels. They actually happened, and they are allusions to more important ideas for our future. For instance, the exodus from Egypt is a picture of
the believer's exodus from earth one day. The promised land is where we are headed. This is the kingdom of God in the heavens. Take a look out and
you see the universe. This is where we are exiting to.
The entire book of Deuteronomy is the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. Ephesians reveals that there are families in heaven and that we are going
there to rule with Christ in the kingdom.
Here is an example:
Deutronomy 4:
19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and
worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven. 20 But as for you, the LORD took you and brought you out of the
iron-smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to be the people of his inheritance, as you now are.
We are not to make idols from the heavens. The heavens are our inheritance. We are appointed to the stars.
We are also told that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. This is true since we cannot leave earth apart form taking some of it with
us. We are also told that we will gain a new body that is glorified for heaven. We are told that we will receive new gifts and abilities. Connect
the dots and you see that we are headed for more than walking a planet.
Read the Bible for all it's worth.
