It is not inconceivable that a "not dead" Saddam is useful for the coalition.
Literate posters will be aware that there is still (a) nothing confirmed absolutely re WMD (b) nothing incontrovertible re Al-Qaida, UbL and 9-11,
hence the focus on "r�gime" change.
Well you don't get a much better r�gime change than having the leader under 1,000 tons of rubble.
So - if there are still things on the coalition's agenda: a "live" Saddam is probably preferable.
