What seems to be a common denominator is Nationalism.
I foresee a re-emergence of Nationalism in todays world.
The real reason for WWII was the great depression. The world could quite easily follow the same path in the near future.

true, hitler hated the jews; but the real problem was the monetary system.. that same system still exists today and controls every nation on earth.. not to mention the same people enforce it

this one sounds familiar. the U.S. (cough)

8. DENIAL is the eighth stage that always follows a genocide. It is among the surest indicators of further genocidal massacres. The perpetrators of genocide dig up the mass graves, burn the bodies, try to cover up the evidence and intimidate the witnesses. They deny that they committed any crimes, and often blame what happened on the victims. They block investigations of the crimes, and continue to govern until driven from power by force, when they flee into exile. There they remain with impunity, like Pol Pot or Idi Amin, unless they are captured and a tribunal is established to try them. The response to denial is punishment by an international tribunal or national courts. There the evidence can be heard, and the perpetrators punished. Tribunals like the Yugoslav or Rwanda Tribunals, or an international tribunal to try the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, or an International Criminal Court may not deter the worst genocidal killers. But with the political will to arrest and prosecute them, some may be brought to justice.

where are you from? 6 sounds pretty familiar. U.S. (cough)

wow that website clearly doesnt understand south africa,
i would say 90% of the bad things that have happened there in modern times are as a result of white men.. most specificly americans and the british.
i hope you guys dont see another genocide as the site suggests, but i really think its something that will happen world wide soon enough

This is how it is. They understand South Africa just fine.

You seem to be condoning the current situation, and are clearly unaware of the distortions of history.

Why would it be against the law? I don't understand but would be happy to have it pointed out to me.

It is no different to academic discussions about dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki or any other such question.

As to which i would prefer? Neither in all honesty. I have tried to think which have the more chilling psychological effect and in all honesty as soon as i start leaning one way other considerations pop into my head and i am back to square one.

In many ways, the mob mentality in Rwanda is similar to what occured during the beginnings of the French Revolution. If you read some of the contemporary accounts, it would appear that the mob basically developed a mind of its own, literally street to street. That would be truly terrifying to be caught on the receiving end.

On the other hand, industrialised genocide is just chilling.

yeah but all it is talking about is black man killing white man, which is really all we hear about in western nations.

'malema is a racist marxist-leninist' - typical western fear mongering

yet true.

There seems to be an horrific propensity for cruelty here, not just against white people, but against Zimbabweans, Somalians, Mozambicans, any even among the many different local "tribes"

To give you a first hand account.

In the last few months,
I have been stopped by police 3 times while driving, and threatened with incarceration on completely trumped up charged, unless I pay the police officer.

After calling the police, due to an attempted home invasion, I am man handled and told to "shut up boer" (I am not a boer).

After being Highjacked, I walk miles to the police station, I am mugged twice. When I get to the police station, I am sprayed with mace.

But I guess I deserve it .

and in todays news

Pretoria - The ANC Youth League on Friday called on government to amend the Constitution to allow land claims without compensation.

ANCYL deputy president Ronald Lamola read out a memorandum of demands at the Union Buildings in Pretoria at the culmination of the league's "economic freedom" march.

The league demanded the amendment of section 25 of the Constitution which protects private property against arbitrary expropriation and allows for compensation

a few weeks ago

"Like Colonel Gaddafi, as economic freedom fighters we will fight to the bitter end and [are] ready to pay the highest price for the retaining of South Africa and Africa’s natural resources to the rightful owners," he said.

The league was ready to fight to protect and defend the sovereignty of "our countries", to defend political freedom and de-colonisation.

Imagine if the US or the UK had to take this approach regarding, let say, immigration

The 12 Ways to Deny a Genocide

1. Question and minimize the statistics
2. Attack the motivations of the truth-tellers
3. Claim that the deaths were inadvertent
4. Emphasize the strangeness of the victims
5. Rationalize the deaths as the result of tribal conflict
6. Blame “out of control” forces for committing the killings
7. Avoid antagonizing the genocidists, who might walk out of “the peace process.”
8. Justify denial in favor of current economic interests
9. Claim that the victims are receiving good treatment
10. Claim that what is going on doesn’t fit the definition of genocide
11. Blame the victims.
12. Say that peace and reconciliation are more important that blaming people for genocide

I hate this topic and I hate the way you presented your question. Like your asking which do you prefer coke or pepsi.

My grandfather's parents were slaughtered in the Turkish genocide of the Armenians, but as HITLER once said "After all who remembers the Armenians" and started killing Jews. And with this out of boredom topic you've proven Hitlers words to be true.

With your question there are no choices. Genocide is genocide. Outcome is millions die, that is it.

I am really sorry you feel that way, also I am sorry for your loss.
If my tact was off, I apologize for that.

I am not sorry for the fear I feel, that my family will be affected by this.
You are in no position to judge me with your sentimentality.

This topic was not written out of boredom, but real concern, and reoccurring dreams.
This is happening in the present, and I feel is very important, regardless of how many feathers it ruffles.

The Jews and Armenians do not have a monopoly on suffering.

Anyway I said my bit on this topic too.
Peace

I wasn't judging I was simply pointing out that if you're on the receiving end then there is no difference in the type of genocide because the outcome is the same, YOU and EVERYONE you love is DEAD.
