EXACTLY. That's what I thought of. All these gun toten types are always big fat and couldn't do combat with a gnat or they are so thin and frail you swear that rifle is bigger than they are.

I wasn't aware that being skinny was a requirement for squeezing a trigger and putting a round between your eyes. If you really think that then you need to grow up kid. It aint what you look like that matters.

As long as the Police behave and do their job; "protecting and serving" -- than everything will be just fine.


Maybe instead of defending a Park and a city ordinance -- they could go arrest some real criminals like bankers foreclosing homes without ACTUALLY owning the title. They've depended on poverty and desperation of bankrupt homeowners to rail-road these foreclosures through -- but they also passed these titles around so many times that in many cases NOBODY knows who owns the home.

OK doesn't have enough money for schools, but they've got plenty of money to buy these police flack jackets and hire them to defend squirrels 24/7.

Kevlar doesn't work too well against armor piercing rounds, which i am sure these guys are packing. If you thought you might end up in a firefight, youre not going to bring the worst ammunition with you. I've used AR-15's and Mini-14's when i was a correctional officer. All it takes is 1 armor piercing round and you have 1 dead cop.

I am only slightly amused, and more than a little frightened by the folks on this thread who think a gun fight should ensue. It seems to me that some of our killer/philosophers may have cut their killing teeth and philosophical verities on the Wonderful World of WarCraft.

WOW. so i just got home after a 12 hr shift at work telling myself "im gonna read for a bit, drink a "chelada" then knock out".
soon as i saw this thread it amazed me.

exercising our 2nd amendment. couldn't have been better. after yesterday that i saw what happened in Oakland i was losing hope, becoming pessimistic.
as great as this can be, makes me feel like something is just waiting to happened.

God I love my home! That is totally legal in Arizona and I love to see those rights exercised! And you don't even need a permit (permission) from the government to carry.

I don't have enough info on these Vets -- I suppose they are a good sign.

The thing I worry about is the Provocateurs -- the people who slip into the crowd, throw a rock, and the police bash everyone's heads and make mass arrests. Then the rock throwers are quietly let go while the rest spend days in a holding cell.

But there are some in this country who WANT to be able to arrest and disappear masses of people. They want a terrorist threat for the simple reason that they WANT to be able to point to someone they don't like, and torture them to death and everyone just accepts the cover story because they are too afraid it can happen to them.

The OK Police are NOT truly willing participants, beyond being a bunch of the usual bullies who pee their pants when grandma raises her fist and they've only got tear gas, semi-automatic rifles, plexiglass facemasks on helmets, flack jackets, body armor, and a badge to fend her off. So the LIKELIHOOD, of these wussies starting something with Vets is next to zero.

But the Media does NOT work for you and me -- and the situation could "call for" mercenaries to be called in, and the situation is then whatever they tell us it is -- and the terrorists are anyone who got shot in the head in the struggle.

We have a trillion-dollar pentagon that was designed to defend us against SOME enemy -- and they borrowed money so that they could have GE outsource and set up factories to produce weapons in China.

So the people using our system against us, have been the only REAL enemy that mattered for some time. The Chinese will one day have their Billion dollar aircraft carriers to "DEFEND THE NATION" and that will draw money from schools and medical care -- and nobody will remember on their News Reports that they already beat their enemy with WalMart.

Where are the honouraqble fighting men who took an oath after they were discharged?
Where are these so called promise keepers when their very own is maybe dying from a police bullet to the head.?

This is just my observation, but perhaps this is the reason why Oakland's PD felt the, let's say ability to overwhelm the protestors with force, whereas in Phoenix there is the potential for resistance so they allow them to continually protest.
Intimidation/propaganda factor. The protestors have the sleight of hand in areas where open carry is legal.
In New york for example, the police feel empowered over it's citizenry due to the fact they have no weapons at their site.

You are kind of ruining this for me.

The Vets are licensed and lawfully using their weapons -- but this shouldn't be an NRA love fest. Weapons are NOT always the answer -- they shouldn't be. But the police are not to be trusted in OK and it's good that the Vets showed up.

But seriously, the "hard on" for weapons is as bad as police officers freaking out and putting someone in a coma because SOMEONE might have thrown a rock. The indescriminant use of force means that innocent people get hurt.

I'd also hate for some police officer with a wife and kids to get shot up by an AR15, because he is standing next to some coward who shoots his tear gas can into someone's head because he is freaking out that someone at a protest is angry.

The People in that park are our Citizens, the wussies in uniform (and of course, good Police as well) are our citizens, and the Veterans are our Citizens.

If some of those gun-loving "secure the border" patriots were there, I'd be afraid that a car backfiring would mean they'd be spraying a Starbucks with bullets. The Veterans at least, aren't going to freak out and won't be firing at anyone who isn't already shooting.

Anyone from across the pond likely has the image of debates on the "Jerry Springer" show and the AR15 at the same time and that is probably a troubling combination.

And no matter what weapon I have, or my neighbor, if a Drone shows up, or a military helicopter -- we would all be dead before we KNEW we were under attack. I'm hoping that the Government and their Wealthy Owners don't take things that far. If it does however, you and I can THEN set aside the "peace time" debate about weapons, and I'll feed you the ammo as you need it -- fair enough?

How long will it be until the United States Army is brought in. Even though they might not wish to obey such orders they are obligated to do so.

To clarify. If J.T. was convicted and thus tossed out of the Marines, he is not a Former or Inactive Marine. He is an Ex-Marine.
Whats the difference?
Former Marines can wear the title proudly forever, for they earned the title and kept it clean.
Inactive Marines, are Reserves are those currently not on Active Duty.
Ex-Marines, are those who got tossed out of the Corps under other then honorable conditions of your choice. Dishonorable type of characters earn the Ex and are usually not proud of their service.

J.T. sounds like a real goon. It's not hard to guess what his motives are at the OWS protest.
