Hey yall,

So Ive finally convinced my mate to sign up after months of lurking.
He isnt shy but like most members he is a tad scared to jump in and make his intro thread.

He has left himself logged into ATS on this computer and I thought maybe I could have a bit of fun by making his intro thread for him.
We give each other a fair bit of good natured grief and my fave one is to call him a fat dwarf (he a tiny bit chubby and 5"9) Im basically hoping to write in his intro how hard it is to be a chubby indian dwarf in a strange country and how desperate he is for friends. Nothing nasty just good fun that he will appreciate

First question, is it against the T&Cs to write under is name even if he wont complain and will get a good laugh out of it?
2nd question, Is it possible for him to make a 2nd intro thread after I do a fake one?

Hoping its all good

Cheers

posing as another member is against T&C's, but its his fault for not logging out.i think you should do it.

also, i dont think 5'9 is classed as being short.

Personally, I would be curious to know the particulars of why he is "scared" before I would condone a prank of this nature. From what you posted, I don't think it would be a right "friendly" thing to do even if the relationship is comprised of pranks of a similar nature in the past involving "chubby Indians".

You aren't 100% sure that this prank would subside his current fear of posting and by doing so he may never want to post a legitimate intro or on any thread for that matter. Which could prevent other members from being made privy to some great information in the future.

This is most likely not a reply you were hoping for, but if it were me, and with the info you provided, I wouldn't prank him in this fashion.

You took your advice, that was originally requested from a MOD (maybe) in your OP title, from someone that has been a member for 11 days on ATS. Good luck with the prank.

Umm...did you not see that thread...
Cats are Alien Camcorders!

...but I should perhaps give you a reprieve as you have fitted your kitty with tinfoil protection head gear.

YES.

If you must 'play with' or 'have a go at' a fellow member ... make it your own.

Otherwise ... please do so via off-board email, etc.

ATS is not the venue for such ... no matter how 'jovial' and 'what the hey' it may seem at the moment/time.

Yes, it IS a violation because then the spouse's account would be considered a "duplicate" account.

My spouse is shorter, probably twice the size of yours and hairy as an ape and looks just like a dwarf in Tolkien!

My spouse isn't even allowed to have an account in ATS because we only have one computer online and we share it and there's no way I'm letting MY hairy dwarf post using MY account! We think like night and day.

There's a jokes and pranks section.

If you're spouse is that shy, I think he or she would be VERY humiliated by your prank ... distancing them even further.
