I remember seeing some protesters (On FOX by the way) who were protesting at some military dock trying to prevent supplies from reaching our soldiers. Now, you can disagree with the war and the Administration ect, all you want, but the least you can do is support our troops. They are not the one's who called for the war, it was our government, and they are the one's now fighting it, and risking their lives. Those people should be ashamed of themselves. Go March in front of the White House if youre so angry, but at least support our boys over in Iraq and pray for them.

Patriotism is NOT equal to belligerent galvanization and braindeadness!

It IS patriotic to protest against a regime, the bush regime, which is rebuking civil liberties, international law, all churches and the world with its greedy, bloodlusty massacres.

It is the constitutional DUTY of any patriotic citizen to oppose the bush regime and its economic brutalization of the american people!

allthough im not for or against the war, i do admit a little moral support would help the guys/gals out there..

personally i dont see how protesting is going to stop the war, protesting against the war doesnt bother me its good that people care about innocent people out in iraq, but i cant see how sanctions and resolutions and weapons inspectors would solve the problem of saddam being an a$$hole, the only way he is going to leave is by force...

i really hate the b list celebs that jump on the anti war bandwagon for publicity how shallow can you get....

iraq people dieng bad, saddam staying bad, i mean how do you solve the problem without upsetting people its impossible, maybe people need to drop stupid relligious morality and realise that 10,000 innocent people dying , to save 1,000,000 innocent people being murdered might not be such a bad thing...

personally 99.9% of the human race should be wiped out so selfless intelligent people can breed, and start again because basically with people like tony blair, george bush and saddam hussain in power no wonder the world is in the state it is ...

The "guys/gals out there" are being nourished by prime centcom propaganda. Dont worry for them.

In a democracy, it is the people's duty to protest against decisions that are undermining the moral, psychological, economic and securitary integrity of the nation. Without manifestation of dissent alcoholics like Mr.Bush and his crowneys will go to any extent sapping the civil liberties. But perhaps you're lucky and the Russians will again do the people's job of stopping the madness. So stay with your fallacious environnement...

Thanks Russia !

I believe he is explaining how it's an Americans duty being a patriot to protect the laws and values of what America was founded on. Thus, the protesters are doing their jobs as Americans, as patriots and as freedom fighters.

Anyone ever hear of Patriot Act 2?

The Generation that fought WW2, was Patriotic, they knew:

Duty.
Honor.
Responsibility.
Decency.

And while they also may have grumbled and griped, at being sent to war, it was always Hitler's Fault, or the Japs, never Roosevelt's fault.

Because they understood that America for whatever reasons, always fought on the side of the righteous, for they knew that they were righteous, and that they were America.

These war protestors are Unrighteous persons, who will never understand the rest of us.

SPQ5 that was a simpler time with an acnknoledged "bad" enemy.

Patriotic does not mean you are a "yes" man, why protesters in their own way could be MORE patriotic than the couch potatoes who abuse them.

After all they are willing to stand up for what they see to be right, and to show that they think to be errors in America than others. - is that not a sign of caring for the country?

MM's idea that unless you agree with what the govt does you are 'unpatriotic' is niave, and just what your socialization WANTS you to be like.

Maturity comes when you recognise that there are no black and white situations and sometimes you have to take a stand for what you believe in - even it others think it wrong.

I totally agree. America "used" to fight on for righteousness.

The Nazis weren't bad when we entered the war.

All any American knew was that the Germans were taking over Europe, and the British were fighting them.

Simpler times? No, we have enemies today, you just refuse to admit it.

They are all these nations who are ALLOWING Terrorists to attack us. Who are supplying them, and who are training them.

You've got to be kidding?! The Nazi's were terrible! Killing Jew's and trying to take over .... oh, what? ... The whole world?! Yeah, before we jumped in, they were pretty good ... NOT !!!

They weren't bad "to us" I should say.

The average American wanted to fight the Japs because they didn't want to kill "Humans".

e-nonymous we already know you have little understanding of anything, why do you keep trying to post against me?

Everyone else seems to understand the meaning of my Post, I hate having to patronize people *that means spelling things out for you as if you were an idiot).

So stop forcing me to Patronize you.

Stop making stupid ill informed comments about the war, the amount of arrogant and simple minded people who post sh*t like you are your own disgrace to your country whichever one you come from. Now i know you might think this is a one sided look on a many sided war but how can u say what Bush is supposedly doing is worse then what saddam does to his people, would you like to be locked up for a decade or two and tortured?

Lakini,

your insults and threats only show one thing : subconsciously you know this war is an illegal massacre in GWB&crownies wallet's sake. But you are so submerged in official propaganda that your true feelings coming up would mean pitting your whole being against the outside world. You arent courageous enough to do so, and by insulting me you hope comforting yourself.

to the mods : please make insulting and threatening like Lakini's impossible, it's a disgrace to our discussion culture.

Moku, I have news for you: Lakinis RIGHT! You ARE misinformed. Where the hell do you get your news from? Almost all of your posts (I cant say all because I dont even bother reading all of them) are about the "Bush regime" (which doesnt exist, btw) or how this war is "illegal". I respect the fact that you stick to your guns so to speak, but when youre wrong, youre wrong.

It IS patriotic to protest. As Americans, we have the right to disagree with our government.

However, it is NOT patriotic to try and interfere with war operations (i.e. shipping supplies to troops). In fact, by definition....it is TREASON! Protest all you want....peacefully. When protesting starts to interfere with the rights of others....or actually aims to disrupt war operations....then it has crossed the line, and become criminal. Stand by the docks, hold up signs, and chant all you want, but actual interference is treason, and they should be lucky they aren't serving serious jail time right now....

Gazrok, kudos. Good clear thinking with good clear distinctions. What I want to know is when the portestors in Cali were chucking bottles and stones at mounted police horses, where the hell was PETA? I heard from an officer that not only were some officers hurt but some horses recieved injuries that had to be treated as well. I guess its not bad to hurt animals when its not convenient to their politics.
