Hello, im from Hamilton Ontario Canada and can confirm reports of aurora borealis in the area, there is now multiple ATS threads on this same day reporting the same thing in many cities, i was hoping we could use this thread to organize all the reports! 10/24/2011

Reports from:

Indiana USA

Barrie Ontario

Ohio USA

I also have a friend living in Thunder Bay Ontario who can confirm reports, and of course me as well in Hamilton Ontario.

Did we just get hit by a major solar storm or something?

Those solar storms are the sun sending earth the much needed energies to increase our vibration and consciousness. It sure brings a beautiful show in the night sky with all those beautiful colors.

Lots of lights from North to right above me! I am from Saskatchewan and just saw something unidentified flying in a straight line through the lights and then gradually fade away or move up. Can meteors do this? They can "bounce" off the atmosphere right?

Can you elaborate on that, your "Energies and consciousness"?

I'm just curious if people who say things like that can back them up with some actual substance.

Hope to see some in VA...but not likely

but the lights of the town are messing up my view!

Can't really see it here in Cleveland (light pollution and all), but S&F anyway for bringing it to my attention and for getting me off my duff to bust out the telescope!

I feel your pain. Its one reason I hate having Chicago 35 miles north of me. Went out side didn't see anything. There was a thin wispy layer of clouds but no color to it.

I was just going over space related stuff with my youngest son when I saw our local weatherman make a post on Facebook telling us about them here in NC. We went outside to see if we could see anything, but all we were able to see were the beautiful stars, not that we're complaining, we love seeing the stars too, but we would have loved to have seen some lights.

The aurora sites aren't loading for me, so I can't find the KP level. Does anyone know the KP level of this storm and the best time to see it in Western Washington? One of my goals in life is to see the northern lights.
Also, if anyone on the west coast sees them, could you let us know.

Thank you, thank you so much! I'm saving this alert page.
I'll try looking again in a few minutes. Hopefully it's still active around midnight (that's when I'm done watching the neighbor kid), and I can take my family out for a few hours.

cool that i found this, I also noticed them last year but i wanst sure if it was my eyes playing tricks on me. Anyway the whole sky was lit up in red with like blue beams slicing through the red. I called my gf out to have a look and she was all upset that I interrupted her laundry until she seen the lights. All in all, it was pretty amazing. Cambridge Ontario
