Not until we invaded, then they moved in to fight the U.S., they were not permitted to operate in Iraq before that, not because Saddam didn't like them, but because he was paranoid.

I'm sorry, but I think the top few richest percentages need it. They're paying way too much in taxes. If it was the same, or close to the same percentage, they would still be paying more money than the lower-class people, but it would be putting the same dent in them as it would be in the lower class people. That's a whole other argument in it's own though

I don't believe that the Iraqi's could have done it on their own, even with some weapon support from us.

Weapons AND air support? They could have easily done it.

And as far as Bin-laden goes, I still believe that we're not holding back. I believe that we are doing what we can to catch him, it just hasn't happened yet.

We'll wait and see, but if they catch him right before the elections, c'mon, it will be no coincidence.

By the way, I live around 67th Ave. and Happy valley road (moved there about a year ago). I don't think you'll be a murderer who will hunt me down with those details

Well, the reason that we didn't use air support is because that wouldn't solve it. It wasn't the type of war where you could just bomb stuff. We had to be tactical, AND there was great resistance. Those two don't go together very well. We also had to find Saddam. That would VERY difficult to do without our troops in there.

Anyway, I still go to Greenway...in my senior year.

I think you're missing my point here, I say we should have supplied the Iraqi resistance with what they needed, and SUPPORTED them from the air, striking Saddam's military positions, and there WOULD be men on the ground, just Iraqi's, not Americans. Once we had decimated the Iraqi army, we could have deployed special forces to help the Iraqi's find Saddam and bring him to justice. But, IMO, that's not the only thing the Bush administration was after, I'm sure they had another agenda.

That's pretty crazy, I live right next to Greenway @ 35th ave, is Delisanti still the dean? He used to spy on us with binoculars from the roof of the school.

See, I think it's just easier the way we did it. First off, it would be too hard to find enough Iraqi's to successfully beat Saddams military. Second, we wouldn't know who to trust. Thrid, they wouldn't be trained well enough to do the things we needed to do. That's just my opinion though.

Yeah, delesanti's still there, but we got a new principal. She's this crazy nazi lady. Mrs. Tataseo or something. There are these stupid new rules flying around...next year they're gonna close the campus. Right now, they have this SWEEPS program. As soon as the bell rings, all the teachers lock their doors and whoever isn't there has to go to this sweeps room until that class is over. You just sit there staring at a wall it's horrible. I haven't gotten it yet though.

I think if the resistance had our air power backing them up, Saddam's army would've probably folded pretty quickly. The resistance would draw them out to fight, and once they were out in the open, our planes and guided weapons would have decimated them, not to mention they were not very dedicated, and most probably would have turned on Saddam if given a good opportunity, and with the backing of the Iraqi population. Not to mention the Iraqi army was also fairly undertrained.

Well, it's hard to say if that's true now...no way we can really say. I still think that what Bush did was good, and if I COULD vote, I would vote for him. We'll see what happens.

Yeah, they haven't closed the campus yet...next year. And they took away the soda fountains, and they're gonna take away the soda vending machines. They're insane.
