I know this doesn't deserve a thread of it's own but I was curious as to why.

My dog for the past 3 days hasn't been acting herself, she's clingy and seems distraught. Also she's been growling toward the window randomly, especially tonight on a calm quite evening. I check outside and there is nothing there, I am home alone so the house is quite besides the tv. I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this recently.

I live in central Florida if this helps any of you.

No ....
All's well with the animal kingdom over here down under. Therefore must be your imagination I would say or alternatively, your pet is not feeling well.

Definitely not my imagination. She's acting differently for a fact...

Here in Southern Virginia, near Martinsville Speedway, our dogs have been barking for unknown reasons too. We live on a long private lane with little traffic. We have had that same discussion about our dogs acting strangly the pat few days. That said, about a month ago we took in a small stray dog and are trying to rehome it. I have noticed the dogs being "clingy" but I was thinking that it had to do with the new dog.

Thank you for the input. I'm hopeful that whatever it is will pass with time.

I'm in DC and my baby is acting the same way he always does. Laying on the floor and watching the room vigilantly. He's a very perceptive dog and not many things get by him. I think it's a coincidence.

My birds especially go nuts whenever there's an earthquake coming - even on the other side of the world. They did last week before and during the 7+ wherever it was. Usually they relax when it's over, but they're still a bit edgy and vocal, and my dog is clingy too. (But we had a major thunderstorm today.)

You're right - animals know. It's smart to learn how to listen. imho.

Try to recall if a family member is missing. See the rapture recently happened, but we have been made to think that it did not. We have no or only a faint recollection of those that are missing. It could be that your pet witnessed the event and it disturbed them.

Sorry t'hear that...I haven't lost a pet except for some fish...years ago; I hope I have many more years to go before I have to part with my special lil' guy. When that time comes I'm sure I'll be upset too.

But, I'm in southeastern Pennsylvania, and my pet has been doing well with no signs of distress.
In the past when there have been earthquakes and similar threads asking if pets were acting normally, he happened to be acting extra jumpy and unusual...but not now, not this time.

It is said that our pets can sense things we cannot, but I think that doesn't necessarily mean that there's going to be an earthquake or other type of "natural disaster". It could be something else happening locally, or just something happening within your home.

It usually comes up in these threads sooner or later, suggestions of making sure your pet's heath is optimal. Sometimes they're just trying to tell us that they're uncomfortable.

hard to say...my cat is a certifiable nut in the feline world. She is always acting odd. How does one tell? She did eat a mouse in the backyard recently, and I could hear the bones crunching (which was rather primal) but that was it.

Ohio, USA here, and my three hounds are acting like normal, nothing unusual to report.

Hope you figure out the stress yours is going through.

Negative. My black cat, Calcifer stays away from the windows as Halloween gets closer. But he does that every year.
