My own view is that the enemies of Israel are getting smart and are learning how to get back at the zionists.

The Israelis have been clever with their deception, but that only works for so long and people learn what to look out for.

Sure Israel have tanks, and jets and nuclear bombs, but so does the US in Afghanistan and the Taliban are still effective, and in my opinion will be there long after US has left.

The only way forward is not to try and defeat other cultures but to reach out to them, support them, treat them fairly and equally and then maybe we can all get along together.

The US/Israel way of doing business by beating your foe over the head until they submit will always ultimately come back and bite you.

Americans can go home to USA but I don't know where the Israeli's will go when they are over run.

Maybe Iran are behind his words!! Is he referring to Iranian missile attacks in retaliation for any Israeli strikes?

Iran know that Israel are close to striking them.

Think Israel wanted to get back their soldier before any attacks on Iran.

They also released so many prisoners to probably appease those on their border etc before any action on Iran.

Is something brewing.....

Well that is what he and Hezbollah think, I am sure Israel will have ways of dealing with these silly threats.

It just shows very plainly that Israel's neighbours still have a "problem" with Israel being there. It shows that among the Palestinians there is no desire for peace and respect for Israel's borders. The recent attempt by Palestine to gain recognition by the U.N without offering peace was rightfully turned down.

Palestine and the other immediate neighbours of Israel have no intentions to respect Israel and renounce terrorism. So now we see why Israel HAS to maintain a strong military stance if She wants to continue to be a country.

I'm sorry, but the way these Arab states behave is just not on the same level of civilization as Israel and the West. Israel is like a European country when you visit. It is civilized. I cannot say the same about say Libya (after what we witnessed on the videos yesterday).

Can the two sides there ever take a break from trying to taunt each other into war? I point to both the Israelis and the Arabs on this. Do their respective leaders sit and look forward to this or what?? They BOTH seem to wake up each morning with great new ideas on how to piss the other side off, just for the sake of doing it.

Perhaps if the Arab PEOPLE and the Israeli PEOPLE came together, they could remove the Arab/Israeli LEADERS and actually find themselves with a fair chance to work out some peace between those who would otherwise live/die by the failures those leaders never seem personally touched by. Arg!

We could say that about any country including U.S and U.K. It is not just appearances. I spent a lot of time in Israel and have many Israeli friends. It is European, but this thread is not about that as such so let us stay on topic.

Go to Tel Aviv and you are in a modern European city and there is a good cosmopolitan vibe there.

This article sounds like a propaganda piece from the very beginning. Please allow me to explain:

The next war with Israel will start in Tel Aviv, not on the northern border, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah warned on Friday, the Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper reported.

In the above quote they make it appear that Hezbollah is planning on starting a war with Tel Aviv. Please remember the above snippet is not an exact quote but an interpretation from Haaretz.

“If Israel decided to wage a war against Lebanon, we will not only break the Israeli soldiers’ bones, we will smash them,” Nasrallah was quoted as saying during a meeting with Hezbollah members.

If you look at the above quote, these are his exact words. If you read these words it is clear that this is a self defense statement. There is a difference between starting a war and retaliating because of an unprovoked attack.

I'm tired of these propaganda pieces coming out of Israel, the U.S., UK and many other countries. If you read between the lines you will always uncover their contradicting statements. Anyone who buys this baloney might as well just send their paychecks to Israel because they own you.

I hardly doubt they interpreted

“If Israel decided to wage a war against Lebanon, we will not only break the Israeli soldiers’ bones, we will smash them,”

To

The next war with Israel will start in Tel Aviv, not on the northern border

But believe whatever makes sense to you.

Also, seeing as how Israel has never attacked Lebanon unprovoked, I fail to understand why he must keep bringing up this "Zionist invasion threat".

Sounds to me like a big steaming pile of Hezbollah fear mongering and propaganda.

With respect,
Eliad.

Are you serious ?

What if I told you that the Deputy Prime Minister of Israel admitted to starting the Lebanon war?

Israel wrong to start Lebanon war: Peres

His words, not mine.

Also, Israel attacks many countries without provocation. The Hamas leader in Dubai was an assassination, the Iranian nuclear scientists who were assassinated were highly suspect as well. The Dubai incident has pretty much been proven and the Iranians have a solid case against Israel for their scientists. Israel is well known for preemptive attacks. In case you don't know, assassinating important officials from a country is an attack on that country. I won't even bother getting into the unprovoked massacres in Gaza.

Hello? What is with the sick and twisted hoping that Jesus comes soon?

Outside of the article not really providing much information that I can see to prove what this person said.......
I am just flabberghasted to see a comment like this hoping that a war starts soon! ::::: shakes head :::::

Israel, an apartheid state, is civilized?

Take a trip to the 'strip and get back to me on how civilized the Israelis really are.

The war on Lebanon was provoked, despite the fact that it could have been avoided. Is that really in dispute here? Do you really believe Israel would have gone to war with Hezbollah had they not kidnapped two soldiers?

There's a level of debate here that's beyond the narrative, beyond the petty back and forth, this is not a collage debate where you have to win your argument at all cost, so let's be fair about the facts.

As for your second point- If assassinations are attacks, than surely the ambush and kidnap of two soldiers constitutes as an attack, no?

The launching of rockets at civilian cities, both Israeli and Palestinian, should count as well, shouldn't they?

In reality, while assassinations are hostile acts, they can hardly be compared to a military operation, or starting a war, and they are rarely "unprovoked". If you'd like to pretend otherwise, go ahead, we'll just have to disagree.

Also if you're going to pretend like Israel is the only country in the world that has a secret agency, or that Lebanon, or any other hostile country, isn't using its secret agency to hurt Israel "because it's morally wrong", and not because they just aren't strong enough, then we'll just have to disagree again.

With respect,
Eliad.

When you get all your information from propaganda, instead of carefully examining the facts and motives, you're bound to get the wrong idea.

Israel has done, and still does wrong to the Palestinians, but within its borders, where the moderate majority of Israelis live, it's far from apartheid. Furthermore the actions of a government don't always represent the true wishes of the silent majority of the people, or what's in their best interest, but more often represents the wishes of lobby groups and extremists.

So, yes and no, depends on how you choose to view it you can make Israel seem like an apartheid state, or like the angel of the world, and the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

With respect,
Eliad.

Also if you're going to pretend like Israel is the only country in the world that...

In that case, it so happens that a certain European regime in WW2 were NOT the only regime that.....
And also, the Jews were NOT the only people who went through.....

So, then lets just all learn to look at history, with all its monsters and victims, in an OBJECTIVE manner.
If not, well, we can always agree to disagree

Germanys Jews said the same thing about Hitlers threats: "Its all propaganda".

Oh how wrong thet were!!! And how wrong Jews still are!

Of all the people in the world, I dont think theres a more naive group then Jews. Yet at the same time, you have some of the smartest people.

Wow.
Pay attenion.... people.
A supporter of jews/israel calls for the deaths of another people living in a neighbouring state.

I wonder what would happen if an ATS member made a post calling for the nuking of Israel. Or do such posts enjoy "immunity" from being criticized?
