1st off, especially in modern times I have to disagree with you about most witches being Wiccan... I'm sorry, but I think you are overglorifying how much of a hold Wiccans really have on the larger Pagan community. For most pagans I've known, they aren't Wiccan but Wicca is a convenient title to hang onto because it is easier to justify... I have met few people who actually consider themselves Wiccan. Even here I am overglorifying the hold paganism has on witchcraft as a whole.

Now once somebody does consider themselves Wiccan... not meant as anything personal about you, but who do you think you are to decide who is or isn't Wiccan based on what they wear or how much they talk to people???
You specify a group, say they aren't the "real Wiccans" then describe yourself as somebody who fits into that group.... but no, you are a real one.

It sort of sounds like a five year old- I'm more Pagan than you because you aren't my personal ideal of a pagan. So there. You must be just faking it, I'm the only REAL pagan here! (I'm joking if you can't tell) People with red hair can't be real pagans, but I have red hair but it doesn't count because it's me...

It is true that most people who call themselves Wiccans are metal heads with tatoos and wear black. But they are not real Wiccans. Real ones don't say anything and keep they're philosophy to themselvses.

wiccans are the ones who are into the planet. witches are the ones who use magick and other such things to cast on other people without them even knowing about it.

or they can do something good however. but then again how can something bad be used as good?

wiccans/witches dwell on the ability to summon from the earth, magick or things which come from beings who arent even the ''divine.'' therefore, in my opinion are lost. for not confronting the real ''entitiy'' for whichever they wish to have.

which is mostly why most witches/wiccans are plaqued with bad luck. just a little something i noticed. i wont get into the teen/witch/vampire thing. there is no knowledge in that topic. just lonely kids with nothing to do with their miserable time which is dehydrated from freedom or anything in particular that will make a person feel ''good.''

hope i shed ''some'' light on a topic that was bouncin offcourse!

You have NO idea what you are even talking about
As a matter of fact, you are out there when it comes to this topic! Witches have bad luck!? My two brothers are in happy marriages, both Doctors, my sister has a walker farm, good marriage, children doing well......I have a very nice home, happy marriage, kids are ok...nothing terrible happening to us, we all have the same life problems as anyone of course, but all of us sure have reason to give blessings for us all being healthy and doing well.....where in the world do you get you information? I have never "summoned" an entity....I don't believe in it as it is dangerous, and NO positive witch or wiccan would even do a healing spell on someone without their permission as it goes against the main tenet...."an it harm none" which includes ourselves....you do not do anything against another's free will......you have in your post above, included all the crap that goes around about Wiccans and pagans..

You most likely know/see a bunch of little wanna bees that run around with huge Pents on...or a lot of Goths.....Wiccans and witches do not feel the need to run around all in black, with the biggest pents on to let everyone know....I personally am very fond of my Native heritage jewelry, as I make it myself, my pent is very small and always inside, as I feel comfortable with it close to my skin....rarely does anyone even see it. I have people at work ask me all the time to do healings for some one and I won't even do that without telling them I have to get the permission to do so, directly from them first.....you must see or hang with a lot negative, dark individuals....you may want to rethink your acquaintances. ANd you most certainly have not shed any light anywhere what-so-ever!

Oops. Sorry.

I meant to say:
And you Lady, as well as all the other Pagans and/or witches and Wiccans who have been persecuted, most likely know/see a bunch of little wanna bee Christians who act all holier than thou, wear huge crosses and try and shove the bible down everyones throats. REAL Christians KNOW that they arent perfect and are sinners too, try to be tolerant of most people and their chosen religion, and are diplomats of christianity by trying to lead by example not by ramming bible verses down your throats.
The generalisations on this board are pretty terrible all round.

James the Lesser: Jakko's right christianity is NOT the church. Christianity is the belief in Jesus Christ. full stop. I'm a Christian but I do not believe in or agree with all the things the church has done. THe church (I'm referring to the Catholic church here) is simply a WAY in which to approach Christianity and worship, there are plenty of other denominations which a) Dont have bloody, gory pasts b)Have not persecuted other religions/denominations/beliefs and c) Do not hold on to certain beliefs (ie you have to confess your sins to a priest who will then later relay them to God.

Even Christians have been persecuted by other Christians (eg Protestants and Catholics). I urge you all you to make sure you've met a diversified bunch of Christians from MANY denominations before you pass judgement on CHristianity as a whole.

I'll give that is always a possibility...but the the Christians that give me personally the hardest time are those between 30 to the elderly...most young Christians I meet are pretty inquisitive about it and seem open minded about it.

I will admit Lady, that currently my opinion is that you are being misled by beings that make you think you understand how certain things work.
But that's not the same as judging you.

Demons deceive a lot of people every day, and judging people who get deceived by demons makes no sense. How will that help?
I hope you are not offended by this, as I am just being honest.
I feel sorry for you, and I know you are a very nice, kind and wise woman, yet your life led you to the stage where you are now.

Once again, this is what I suspect to be the case for you LadyV, but I could be wrong of course.

Lady V: Yep well thats the thing. Most young Christians arent that bad. I'm a young Christian and i like to consider myself tolerant and respectful!

Christianities come a long way from the dark ages. Nowadays new Christians worship God because they want to not because they're scared they'll burn in hell for all eternity, so it leaves them free to question whether certain aspects of Christianity are right (ie burning pagans at the stake, homosexuality etc etc)

The age factor is kinda like apartheid memories here in South Africa. Old people like my grandparents are still racist. Its been drilled into them since they were born, and now at 90 they dont wanna change, whereas my generation are usually a lot more tolerant and happy we're a multi-cultural country.

Question: What do Wiccans believe happens when we die?

Careful Jakko. We've spent days trying to convince them we're not all untolerant, judgemental bible pushers. comments like that could get us stuck again

Let me make clear that I am not judging them, neither do I think that I am better or smarter than they are.

IMHO Wicca is such a diverse and multifaceted belief that you could ask 100
different people and get 100 different answers.

Well, in fear of Fluffy, I will tell you one answer. Reincarnation. I think that is the only one, not sure. I don't think they have an "after-life" like the christians believe or Jews believe.

And the church is christianity, just like Lutherns are christianity, or Protestants, Methodists, they all represent christianity, and if one does bad, it reflects on all of them. Like the rappers, they make all blacks look like drug using women beating gangsters, but they all aren't, just those ones, and they make all blacks look like that. Or you have the veiw of asians being Kung fu masters. Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, so forth. Now they paint all asians as being kung fu(Jeet Kun Do, whatever) masters. People have to realize that they represent their people. They may be a small group, but they represent the entire group they are in. Of course, it isn't their fault they are veiw this way, for if no one ever saw them, no one would think that. What would be the opinion of blacks if no rapper was ever heard? Or no asian Kung Fu masters? They would be different, some better, some worse.

Anyways, Keep Fluffy at bay, he scares my bunny.

Lady, in all honesty, you probably find any opinion about witchcraft/wiccas that's different from your own absurd.

I didn't mean to insult you or make you upset, but I hoped you could handle me being honest about how I feel about your religion, just like you (not so elegantly) did about mine?

But you forget that inevitable 1 in 100 that will just be regurgitating something they overheard/read, acting as if they know all the answers as they mispronounce or just use the wrong words...

good answer. I will support you on this one, reincarnation is a common one, the idea of a summerland like some early civilizations had pops up, for the most part Wiccans will believe many things, I've heard that you reincarnate if you feel like it, and you also can either go to an afterlife location or just wander freely about the existing planes...
but reincarnations comes up a lot.

ladyv thats fine if youre into jewlery, i am too. shouldnt go off topic. there really isnt much to being a witch/wiccan besides the beliefs that i mentioned above.

and about how they were always slaughtered.

you also talked about marriage, marriage doesnt always bring happiness. infact, most people of todays generation have a larger rate in divorces.

ever heard the term, are you married or are you happy?
