It will get closer to the moon than earth, and it will fly about 140,000 km above our ecliptic. Together with the trajectory we are looking at a 240,000 km miss of the moon and a near 350,000 km miss of earth. This is pretty 'locked in'. And NASA doesn't calculate those trajectories.

Yeah, there were at least 3-4 people preaching that there was going to be a huge EB system test on 9-27 which supposedly coincided with the date that 'Elenin' was supposed to hit or something like that. Both events never happened as far as I can tell.

more precise passing distances can be found digging the list of neo objects there, and you can be assured that those candidates who come within lunar distance are monitored as good as possible.

So i wouldn't take this diagram in question as not too serious, for technical reasons.

Personally I am worried about this, even if it doesnt actually hit us it shows regardless we are going through its tail the dust area and in that area is many smaller asteroids, so the chances are really high we get it with several somethings.

No, it does not collide with earth..At all. Look at the distance between it and earth. Notice it never reaches zero? That is because it is not going to hit earth. The closest it gets is about 0.020 AU According to that video anyway.


That means it will be 1 859 117.75 miles from earth....

It wont hit us at all.....We are in no danger....
