I can't support OWS for a few reasons, none of which are political. I am all for people standing up for them selves and trying to be heard through protests, strikes, sit ins whatever you think you need to do to get your voice heard. It makes me happy to people coming together for a cause. BUT, something I can't get out of my head is that for some reason that I can't put my finger on, I have an overwhelming feeling that this is going to end up extremely violent and in a disaster somehow and I don't want to be a part of that. I also can't help but wonder......this is the middle of a school year right now, I know you people don't all have kids, but, some of you do and your choosing to camp out and walk around with a sign instead of being there for your kids and making sure they are educated properly and attending school and being a proper parent, it seems very irresponsible to me. I can't be a part of something that is in effect responsible for child neglect of any kind.

where does the initial violence come from ??? from the people or from the system killing all human life and behaviour and food and drinking water .... ?? ask yourself and you will sleep better tonight, because do not confuse everything please .. the violence comes from the $$$$$$$ greedy system ....

I honestly just don't get it either. In my life, in Houston, Tx,, I have no complaints....I see nothing for me to protest. There is no "man" bringing me down lol. No one has taken any freedoms away from me, I pretty much do what ever the hell I want as long as I don't hurt other people. I am not rich...at all but, I am very happy and can honestly care less if someone else has more money than me....that doesn't mean they are happy. All of this your rich and I'm not bullsh#t seems EXTREMELY childish to me.....seriously, like little kid childish, grow the fu$# up. I have food, I have water, and noone is trying to kill me. People say the banks are evil and protest.....dude, my life would be crap without my bank, I am grateful. Do you honestly think you would have gone to college, bought a car or a house or be able to get an education for your kid without a bank? THANK YOU Chase Bank for helping me with those things, I appreciate it, I could not have done any of those wonderful things without you, you will always have my business. You protest because you don't have a job.....the reality of it is, if your lazy as# wasn't sitting on a corner for a couple of months with a sign that says I dont have a job and were ACTUALLY using that time to go find a job you would probably have one and that's not my opinion, that's truth. You will NEVER find a job sitting around complaining that you don't have one. Soooooo, I really just don't get it. Someone explain to me what I have to protest.

This movement will go absolutely nowhere in Houston.
Thanks for posting.

Dude, I am not trying to be a protest troll here. I am trying my hardest to understand what this is about and why people are doing this. That's why I keep reading these kind of posts. I am hoping that someone will be able to explain it in a way that will make a little lightbulb go off in my head and I will see what all of the hoowaaa is about. As it stands right now......it makes absolutley no sense to me and all I can see is pointless violence as an outcome.

The people that are protesting think that the 1% of wealthiest americans are greedy capitalists control everything. Their is a large group within the OWS that openly supports socialism and have called for the overthrowing of the United States. By forever changing the way business is done in the US they hope to topple capitalism and overthrow the United States with a socialist government already in place.

Once violence irrupts, Obama will declare martial law. This will obstruct the 2012 elections. After martial law is declared there will be a UN Troops presence on American soil.

The FEMA camps you may have heard about will not be occupied by FEMA themselves, it will be occupied to foreign troops and UN troops and they plan to round up american citizens and throw then into the camps.
However the left has spun this story about the camps into US troops turning on their own citizens. That won't happen unless they are deemed as enemies of the state.
That is the best I can explain it for you.

Obama also heads the UN Security Counsel. Upon martial law being declared in the US the UN will declare war with Israel in hopes to create a palestinian state. Recently at the UN their was a bid for Israel to return to a Palestinian state.

Sooooo, your saying that if we don't overthrow the US and become a new socialist country then there will be marshal law, Obama will become a dictator and everyone will get thrown into Fema camps and the US will invade Israel. I am sorry but all you have convinced me of is that you need some lithium dude. I love my country, if they are REALLY trying to overthrow the US I am going to get my gun out and take care of business, holy crap.

Sorry I don't mean to scare you.
But you might want to get your gun out if things escalate.

Also don't take my word for it. I don't know what the future holds.

But if you reread my response again (because I don't think you understood me correctly) and you think that their is some credibility to what I said then by all means don't take my word for it until you do some research of your own.

Also wanted to add, that not all of the OWS wants to overthrow the US. Most of them are youth. Most recognize there is a problem with the economy and they are simply pointing blame at the wrong folks. If I had to guess most of them do not have children. To me they seem to be alot of frustrated youth unable to find work.

Think about this. The unemployment problem in this country started around 2005. Alot of those youth have gone to college and graduated and haven't found work. Or some have graduated from high school and haven't found work. Some are members of the Union and do have work.

If you asked me your at a pretty safe place in Houston TX. Fortunately alot of folks around here are not stupid enough to fall for this. Like I said before, this movement will probably not gain very much ground in Houston.

I have thought about that. I think, yes the economy isn't great right now but, if you have been unemployed since 2005 then it's absolutely NOT the economies fault lmao. Just maybe it's you. It's like the guy who has been married 10 times and says ALL women are messed up whores.......noooooo it's you loser.

Well, they did acheive something... a lot of people are pulling their money out of the banks and going to credit unions.... now that is one of the things protesters have tried to do and acheived.

It can only get better as more level headed people that understand what's going on and who have the ideas for how to solve the issues join and spread the information they know, and maybe the trouble makers will just leave.

Nothing changes until someone moves to change it, then it does.

Those who think things are just hunkky dorry do you really think the government actually stands or represents you? Do you look at what they have passed the past 40 years in office and can you honestly say you wanted the Patriot Act? The NAFTA and CAFTA????

If you do then you do not understand freedom or economic issues.

Are you against free trade with Mexico and Canada? Why? Is there something horrible about Canada I should know about? Also, I am not a criminal and don't plan on engaging in any criminal activities......so how does the patriot act adversely effect me? If I was calling people in Yemen plotting to bomb stuff, yeah, it might be of concern to me.....but I don't soooooo I am kind of leaning towards please find these guys before they blow up an orphanage or something way of thinking, in order to do that they need to have intel, right? Or do you want kids to possibly die just so noone will accidently overhear your phone sex or drug deals? I take it you don't think the government represents you......do you vote? If you don't shut the fu#@ up with that nonsense you have no room to talk about government bad this and government evil that, if you do then, wtf? Just wait until the next election and vote for who you want or if you really want to make a difference run for a local office and start making real changes in your community.

“The Dark Knight Rises” film crew is preparing to move to New York. Right now the rumor is that Christopher Nolan will film the protesting crowds at Occupy Wall Street in order to convey scenes of civil unrest in Gotham City: www.cityonfire.com...

I thought this was pretty funny.

Yes well combine that with the indoctrination that is going on in our schools and we have the perfect storm that is known as the OWS. Socialism is now being taught in history class. Many of the history lessons being taught, make the founding fathers out to be criminals. They preach communism and socialism.

Let's see.

We have one element that supports socialism.
Another that supports communism.
Another who supports capitalism.
Another element that represents House Democrats.
Another element that favors the Unions.
Another element that opposes Unions.
Another element that supports ending the FED.
Another that supports, no racism.
Another element that supports racism.
Another that openly supports Nazism.
Another that opposes the 1%.
The other is the 1%.

Each sponsors the movement.
If I had to guess the wolves that aren't wearing sheeps clothing, are just wolves wearing wolves clothing.
Yet those who support this movement claim that it is a non-violent, peaceful movement.
My guess is that violence will irrupt any minute now.

What am I going to do about it?
I am going to sit at home and watch on TV.
As this movement conquers and divides itself.

Happy protesting!

Cannot all of these divisions find a unifying goal and unite to make things better and shed their extreme ideas?
I am hoping beyond all hope I guess.
Because something needs to be done, balance needs to be restored.

I believe we can. First we need to be honest with ourselves. We need to find the common ground that can unite us rather than divide us further. Justice needs to be served to those who have done wrong.

Remember the day after 9/11? We as a country were united.

However the aftermath of that day still remain and have divided us.
