Rome is counting the cost of its worst violence in years, which erupted on a day of global protests over austerity and banking practices.
The city's mayor says damage costing more than 1m euros (£877,000) was caused when hooded protesters torched cars and attacked banks and a church.

I can understand their aggression and despair particularly with the economic climate of Italy and talks of a default imminent but at the end of the day has any of this gained any ground for the Occupy cause?
That is how to NOT protest, if you're going to be participating.

Mama mia! It is actually a bit (pleasantly, might I add) surprising that this sort of behavior hasn't erupted in other cities across the globe. 1M Euros in damage when the country already has hardly a leg to stand on financially (I know in the grand scheme $1M Euros is pocket change but it all counts!).

Don't you get it yet?
The global occupy movement is a test. It is meant to draw out those willing to participate, and to show where the class war's battlefronts really are. You see these occupy riots in Italy and Greece? They signify that these two countries are the weakest links of the imperial Western states.
Revolution in these countries will be followed by a domino effect.

Any kid with a wristwatch calculator could tell you Greece is the hardest hit financially, doesn't take a mob of communists to figure that one out. Where there is economic hardship, there will be unrest.
So what you are saying, the commies are going to pick on the hardest hit, most down and out countries to take advantage of someone when they are down to put the boots to them? Sounds like commie tactics to me.
