There seems to be alot of praise and worship going to satan on this forum. I almost puked when I heard someone say that satan was the good guy. Are these people for real? Considering the history of satan you would think that this is one area that people would not want to touch. I guess worshiping a being that gives you what you Want instead of you NEED is the best route for these guys.

While I realize that each is entitled to believe what they wish, the mere fact that people are putting satan on a pastel has got me going a little haywire. Can someone help me understand what the heck is going on around here?

And one other thing, why does the spell check demand that I capitalize satan

There are a few Gnostics here on ATS.

Gnosticism is the belief in the Inversion of the Bible.

The snake is the savior, God is the deceiver. Knowledge is good.

Watch the Matrix - the movie is 100% about this.

If you don't believe me, then it should take 3 clicks of a button to find proof out of the directors' mouths.

Satan, while mythological, is a proper name and should be capitalized just like Zeus and Aphrodite should be.

Why do we waste so much energy and create so much hatred arguing over imaginary friends? A perfect world, for starters, is a world with no religion. Have fun arguing this meaningless topic for the rest of the day.

Though I agree with you, it isn't meaningless to the elites who strive for global control.
And I've always tried to "know" my enemy.

Satan gives you what you want? Snap, I must be doing it wrong

Pretty sure, as a recovering ex-Christian, God doesn't give what you need either.

26 years clean now too!

Where should we start? The Bible, Koran the list is pretty long. But here are some source to get you started.

"Satan appears within multiple belief systems. Unfortunately, there is a common presumption that all of these Satanic figures must indeed be the same being, despite the fact that each religion has its own very unique perspective and description of him." read the rest here altreligion.about.com...

Thanks for the info concerning capitalization.

Can you name a time in history when man never believed in God? Religion is here to stay, when one dies another is born. It's always been that way and always will. I wonder why.

Because it's civilization's version of cancer, and there is no cure. Cancer will eat away at it's host until the host can no longer sustain itself and dies.

Weak minds require justification and rewards for their existence. The rest of us still feel love, empathy, compassion, hope, and brotherhood without any of the probably tens of thousands of mythological explanations that have been offered through time. If you are so sure that the human mind's propensity for imagination cannot account for religion and all of it's spin offs, I encourage you to spend 10 days devouring your local library's FICTION section. Humans can conjure up some pretty crazy stuff.

Religion is responsible for more lies, deceit, hatred, war, death, starvation, greed, mental sickness, poverty, and misunderstanding than any other concept. Religion, in the majority of it's forms, will be one of mankind's greatest regrets - assuming we can keep from killing each other long enough to be able to look back on how we are today.

Many biblical scholars view the Bible and the Abrahamic religions as a piece of history - little snippets of reality buried in a quagmire of dogma.

I agree that religion is probably the most potent tool wielded by those in control. Make up a storyline about our immortal souls and how we have to act to keep them safe and ensure their delivery to Heaven and you can FOREVER use it as a tool of control. Religion is and has always been a control mechanism.

Don't blame religion for that, blame those who where in power at the time. It's the leaders who lied, had hatred started wars and all of the other things you mentioned, not the religion. While I don't agree with all religions I can honestly say that I never read one that teaches such things.

Then you should re-read your Bible.

It's the most violent and disgusting book I've ever read, and I read lots.

You must have one of those corrupt versions everyone talks about because I never read anything like that. And spare me all of the quotes where you think God is evil, I've heard them all.

He is correct in a way. Most of the OT, was man's views and not what God was telling them to do, but mans own mind. Genesis (some), Proverbs, Psalms, and the story of Noah, are about the most accurate, the rest is not.

Even the story of Job, has been patched together like a pretzel.

When you understand that there is only God, one, no more but God, then the whole Satan debacle becomes clear.

So much power we put into words.

Your Brother

When we say Queen Elizabeth, do you know who I am referring to? The answer is: Which one? Satan is representative of the Spirit of Darkness that is paired with the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit). A spirit is consciousness. God is infinity. Infinity is not past or present, it is now. It is never changing. Infinity is at rest. We are created as a line of time in infinity. Since we are part of infinite, then we are without end. There cannot be a finite number of infinite things. There cannot be an infinite number of finite things. This allows us to understand that we are already in heaven, yet we have not arrived there yet by our perspective. We may already be in hell, yet we are unaware of this in time. Heaven is eternal and so are we. Our material existence is finite. It has an end.

While we are here, there are two spirits that influence our spirit (Consciousness). This allows free will. We can choose to collapse the indeterminate wave of all possible outcomes from infinity because we are finite while in the material world. We are infinite by the fact that we have and always will exist. Infinity is infinite. The work of God is separating the darkness form the light. We are part of infinity being separated. We make the choice as we occur on the timeline of finite reality.

The paradox for us is this: God has already experienced this infinity and is at rest. It is His creation. We are riding back through this infinity in time. We have the choice to gain perspective as we travel through. We make the choice as an indeterminate outcome. We are the indeterminate outcome and choose our destiny by how we choose to live. We are influenced by two spirits. In the end, darkness will be defeated by the light of truth and love.

In physics, all particles have an associated wave. Light is a duality of particle and wave. The wave carries the energy and particles to form. God is the father (Light). The Son is the Word (Wave). The Holy Spirit is consciousness. God is one, yet three. We are one, yet we are projected from the three. We are a body (both particle and wave) and we are consciousness. Reality is the image of God and we are the image of God. We can choose Him or we can choose the consciousness of darkness. It's our choice.

John 1

The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Four components of reality.

Genesis 1:1
In the Beginning (Time), God created the heavens (Space) and the earth (Matter). Let there be light (Energy).

The image is a reflection of God.
1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

We are 'inside' the image.

1 Corinthians 13

11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

One day we will see by God's light. You will not be able to see if you choose the darkness. It will be cast out from the light. We each choose where we spend infinity. The Physics of God

You can bet it will be proven towards the end. But, seriously, there are those who love God, and those who love Satan. ATS brings together people all over the world, many with different viewpoints. It's bound to happen, and no way to stop it.

I think you would get better responses if you directed the question towards them. Many probably won't answer because the way the op is worded, just an observation.
