Anyone from NC hearing all these dang booms? My goodness, how many times does the military must shake my house and scare my dog in one day. Enough is enough. Can the civilians get some sleep? Please. I understand you have to do your drills and all, but, you know, there should be some noise ordinance law for you guys as well. ARGH. You are disturbing the peace.

Weird, I'm in Southern CA and I've been hearing explosions for the past 2 hours.
Call them and tell them to shut up.

Does this happen on a regular basis? How long has it been going on?

I'd wager that peace is the last thing they are concerned about.

All the talk about Iran and such, they're prolly gearing up.

It just started today, I haven't heard the booms in awhile, and when I do hear it, it only last for a couple hours. Not all dang day and night. Unbelievable. It's annoying. Sounds like bombs going off. One after another. Watch, they screw up once, we all get wiped off the map.

Ha, I have to admit I find it amusing you're more bothered by the noise of "bombs", rather than the fact that there is possibly bombs going off.

Well, they don't have to purposely make them go off all day and night. lol
Do a test field run on a couple, not like 20 million.

They sound like they work.

Ah. Too far away. Normal for your area though, right? Unless they're gearing up for something?

So we have the same thing going on.... On both sides of the continent ? I'm in Apple Valley So. Calif. Not a sound but I'm going out to look in San Diegos way. Got my ears on.

All quiet .
No military active at all and with Edwards close by and Irwin about 50 miles to the east. We usually have something. But not so far tonight at exactly 9:11 on friday night. the 14 th day of Oct.

We have been hearing booms here in
Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Once yesterday, it
shook the house, very loud. Also the day
before yesterday. Sounds like its right
in my yard. No military close or anything I can
think of that would cause it. I read an
article the other day (forgot where) but
people have been reporting explosion
type booms in this area since 2004
but nothing has ever come to light
as to what it might be.

It only lasted 2 hours or so, I haven't heard anything else for about 20 minutes.

I do not know why, but I find that funny, in an odd sort of way.

Hypothetically.....

Suppose these soldiers are practicing being accurate hitting their target for when shtf. Now, you are disturbed by the noise, you call and ask them to knock it off, and being concerned with the citizens welfare, the colonel obliges your request.

The next day, shtf and the soldiers stand to and start repelling attacks and they are getting it done but when they get down to the very last attacker, the enemy gets a lucky shot off and it lands on your house before we can take the enemy down. After review of the events, as gallantly as our soldiers fought, they missed their last shot, it does happen.

Hindsight always being 20/20 would that phone call still be a good idea. Or a case of NIMBY.

Doesn't help when you're trying to get a kid to sleep. And she thinks a thunderstorm is coming and freaks out. OMG, We just got her to bed now. Pacing house like crazy all night. "When the booms going to stop. It hurts my ears."

But, I hear what your saying.

Tell her the truth.....

Those are our soldiers practicing, to keep us safe, just in case.

Do it the right way, she will begin to understand and she will adapt.
