"Recent economic data reinforces our belief that the U.S. economy is not in a recession," said Joseph Tanious, market strategist at JPMorgan Chase Asset Management. "The consumer is in fact coming back and starting to spend."

CNN rellying the words from a arket strategist at JPMorgan Chase Asset Management
this is so like before 2008 market crash, really? Recent economic data reinforces our belief that the U.S. economy is not in a recession?

sadly the people disagree with that fake economic data, the fake economic data was realeased to prevent the stocks from crashing, didnt the stocks just two weeks rally on false hopes rather then on data?

Whenever these bankers come on TV and spew "Everything's all right" I automatically believe the complete opposite!! The biggest BSer is that host of Mad Money, Jim Cramer, a former broker for Goldman Sachs...Everytime I see his ugly face on TV with that whiny voice I want to throw my TV out the window....All these fake TV host/bankers are placed there to manipulate the truth about the world economy and the drooling zombies go "Oh Yea that Cramer guy said the economy is strong and we should spend, consume, and be in debt...YEE-HAW I'm a dumb slave".

When you wake up the nightmare will be over my friends!!

Yes I trust JP Morgan. People are spending, but it's all credit that they'll just walk away from later. Kinda like our government will do to China and the others.

It seems, that unless the markets are completely crashing we are not in a recession.

K-Mart and even Wal-Mart have layaway, I never thought I'd see that come back... Is the Dollar store next?

I think what he means is that media, economists and everyone else alike won't admit to any recessionary effects unless the stock markets are crashing. As long as markets are positive, it don't matter what is happening on main street. It's really a slap in the face, or worse, to those many people who are being screwed over in the current economic conditions. Of course not everyone is seeing it that way and some pretty big names are telling it how it is (ie Gross, Roubini to name two). .

By now everyone has learned that hot air itself doesn't inflate a stagnant economy haven't they?
