FDA Allowed Unsafe Seafood Onto Market After BP Oil Spill Disaster

www.medicalnewstoday.com

In some cases, the FDA let through foods with 10,000 times too much contamination. The federal Agency is also accused of not identifying the risks for children and pregnant mothers. It appears the FDA used faulty assumptions and obsolete risk assessment methods.

This is the result of a peer reviewed study. The issue at hand is that the FDA does not have limits for PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons).

Originally the FDA was set up as part of the global response to American products and practices like described in "The Jungle" By Upton Sinclair. It was the only way America could get people buying our products again...

What do you do when the FDA is a farce? Occupy Wall street?

No, we don't occupy anything. We love eachother, unconditionally. We ignore the man behind the mask, behind the strings, and we make him irrelevant. He is only important when you recognize him, all daemons are.

If you think that anyone but ourselves are responsible for the position we are in, you are wrong. I am not saying the root cause belongs to the people, only that justice is served by the people. If we negate our laws to enact that justice, we are destroying ourselve. If we seek a dictator, or put the weight of our responsibility to fix the problem on one man's shoulders, we can not complain when our rights dissapear because we obviously aren't even holding ourselves accountable, much less the dictators we are creating.

This is not an issue between people of the planet, this is an issue between governments. When governments go to war, everyone loses. The only people who gain are the bankers, but at the cost of their soul. Gaining is relative, at this juncture. The only true gain is when we realize that our elected officials have failed to do their jobs to which we appointed them, and that we failed to make clear our intent and desires to said officials, and that we handed over our ability to think and govern ourselves from the onset.

How do you fix that? You fix yourself first and the rest doesn't seem to matter so much. I think that's the real solution.

The FDA is at best, completely worthless, and at worst, hideously criminal.

The person above me is delusional, love and hope isn't going to solve this, we are cattle in a pen, we have to break out and then break down the laws that make this country so near it's demise.

Not surprising. You already know that the FDA serves business interests instead of the people.

Why do we pay taxes again?

This is the same F.D.A. that is telling us radiation still coming out of Fukushima is absolutely no threat at all and heck, you can't even detect it, right? I feel warm and fuzzy about their assurances on that now. Why would we ever doubt them? They're here to help us!

You see, THIS is why people shout, and scream and complain about big business. Wether you are making cheap food for mass production, and using MSG and other unpleasant added ingredients, or wether you are talking about allowing food to be sold knowing it is full of pollutants, the name of the game remains the same. Greed.

Whats the betting that the FDA were paid kickbacks by British Petroleum and partners to ensure that contaimination levels were not shown in the food that comes from the region? I would be very suprised if in ten to twenty years, it does not come out that the FDA , BP , and various government organisations were not in cahoots to keep the real extent of the aftermath as quiet as possible.

These creeps make me sick.

Nice! And Obama encouraged people to consume the toxic seafood!

President Obama also entered new waters by declaring--and demonstrating--that seafood coming from the Gulf remains safe to eat. The President ate mini crab cakes, fried shrimp, and shrimp salad sandwiches for lunch on Monday during his tour of the region and told reporters the seafood was "delicious." "This is important for consumers who need to know that their food is safe, but it's also important for the fishermen and processors who need to be able to sell their products with confidence," Obama said. "I'm announcing a comprehensive, coordinated and multi-agency initiative to ensure that seafood from the Gulf of Mexico is safe to eat." President Obama said, during a press conference in Gulfport, Mississippi Monday. "So let me be clear. Seafood from the Gulf today is safe to eat." After a seafood-filled lunch, President Obama ended the day at Tacky Jack's seafood restaurant in Orange Beach, Alabama, where he ordered crab claws, crawfish tails, and seafood salad for dinner to again drive home the point that consumers shouldn't worry about seafood from the region. The President's emphasis on seafood coincided with an interagency announcement from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on enhanced efforts, including precautionary closures and increased seafood testing to ensure seafood coming from the Gulf is safe to eat.

Yeah, it was obvious from the beginning that this was happening. It's pretty gross if you think about it.

Here is a link to the actual study in the OP with peer reviews and all. Forgive me if it is on this thread already, but I looked and could not find it. It's a link to a page on the study and near the bottom there is a PDF. I had to download it. If anyone doesn't want to download the file let me know and I will copy and paste it in here. It is about 11 pages long.

link

I read it, it's pretty incriminating. The sad thing is that tons of people have been eating and breathing all that crap in the water.

The sadder part is that the people who were eating the seafood and refusing to leave their homes were warned by so many concerned citizens. In some cases, they called those who warned them paranoid conspiracy theorists, claiming the government says it's just fine to swim and eat seafood, Gawd Dangit! So, it's a whole bucket of toxic oysters kind of sad. I wonder if anyone will snap out of their victim-hood long enough to realize that the media and government are not their friends who keep them safe! Maybe they'll start thinking for themselves. I'm not holding my breath....but I don't live near the Gulf, so I don't have to!

I love seafood, it sucks because every time I eat it I can't help about all the crap we put in our oceans. Fukushima is the one I worry about now.

Do you know if the link I posted in my last post wwas working before I took it down?

Do not trust it just because it says

Sickening news, I for one will still NOT eat anything that
comes from the gulf.

The sad part is the people who ATE seafood unknowingly

Are you telling me that you refuse to believe the same people who allow aspartame, fluoride, mercury and all the other junk into our food supply?

How dare you!

Everything is alright, the FDA cares about you.

What can one expect. This is the same FDA that allows mercury and viruses in our innoculations. Poison in our drinking water. Tells US citizens that GMO foods are good for us. That radiation won't hurt us and the list goes on and on.

Maybe I mean the FDA is looking out after number 1 and their money supply more then the foods.

I am so sorry your thread does not get more attention.............

It just shows you how desensitized the American public as well as the majority of the ATS members here are...........

The public’s reality is TV’s next reality show……..

ATS members seek “hot” topics so they can just bang on their keyboards like a school of piranhas.

What the FDA has done is so criminal that the whole agency should be investigated and dismantled to some degree……

This is no different than biological warfare..............

But this is our Government………CDC, NOAA, FDA, DEA and so on………everyone of them is very corrupt with only one interest in mind…….The Government …........Not the people………

Your thread does not get attention because it’s not “hot” news…………

No one cares that someone’s son, daughter, wife or husband will deveolope cancer in the next five years and die……….

No one cares that the Government could have prevented it……………..

I can understand why most Americans are uninformed due to the media’s propaganda news machine………

But I don’t get ATS members……………I guess the majority are no different than a TV reality show addict………..Just waiting for the next hot topic so they can bang away on their keyboard……

The Gulf is old and dead news……….Even though its going to kill thousands of Americans due to Cancer over then next 15+ years………..

You want to Occupy something? Go occupy the FDA.......the EPA.........the NOAA............

Your thread should be front page news………

Shame on ATS members for not making it so……………
