Why the heck is your head glowing?

I just...saw my very first aura. I can't believe it. I wasn't even trying, I accepted a long time ago that I simply could not see auras and I left it at that. I have not even done any reading about it in years. It just happened. I am incredibly giddy, and also very confused all of a sudden!

I was actually "debating" with my husband. I say "debate" because it was a very calm argument, but an argument still. This is rare, don't worry, but something pretty significant happened and upset both of us very deeply. We had come to a place in the "debate" where he was sitting in front of me apologizing and explaining his perspective and I was trying to stay very present and hear him out, when I suddenly noticed his head was glowing.

I didn't hear the rest of what he was saying. I saw a very thin electric blue outline first, upon further inspection I noticed that the color was a deep purple/burgundy closer to his body, and then electric blue on the outside of the aura.

I tried several times to squeeze my eyes shut, re-open them, shield my eyes, change where I looked, but no matter what it was still there. Finally after experimenting with all that, thinking "Surely this cannot be an aura", I couldn't come to any other conclusion as to what it could be. My husband finally said my name and caught the slack jawed look on my face and asked about it. "Nothing, I'm exhausted" I said, not wanting to disrespect the conversation with any sudden subject change, but all I could think was "Why the heck is your head glowing?".

So...what does this mean? Do the colors mean anything in particular? Do the times I see it mean anything? Is the color always the same? Will I see more? What helps to see them more? Oh goodness I have so many questions, are there any aura experts around here?

I suggest you read the Celestine Prophecy if you havent already. Here is a clip of seeing Aura's. The Prophecy is now.

You are very lucky to have seen this. Most people do not know about Aura's or Energy (Chi)

Peace to you.

Reading your post made me very happy!

The colours and sometimes shapes or bubbles in someones aura mean different things. We all possess an energy body, or astral body, this body is the aura itself and it is animated by our emotions/thoughts/past experiences. So what you are seeing is the astral body of your husband. From what I understand this astral body is not seperate from the physical body, it is just made of more refined energy than the physical body. Someones Physical body cannot exist without the astral, but it seems their astral body existed before and goes on to exist after the death of the physical body it animates, this is probably the roots of our concept of heaven and hell.

There are many different ways to approach the subject of energy fields and auras, good luck! The celestine prophesy was cool I remember reading it when I was really young I remember enjoying it a lot. never saw the movie.

I always thought that an aura was not something you physically see, but sense in a way...I've never had the experience myself so I cannot say...but that is what I've read at least...

I always just kind of figured an aura's likeness to the the colors you see when you close your eyes in a way...

Thank you thank you! I am happy to make someone happy today!
Hey if nothing else, it ended the "debate" pretty quickly

I really like the way you describe it. This goes along with my spiritual beliefs incredibly well, and what you say about heaven and hell makes complete sense to me. Wow!

This is just amazing to me, I am like a kid in a candy shop now. I can still see it, it's almost like...how could I have not seen it before? It is so obvious now. I want to see my own, but now I am kind of scared to look. I'm going to have to explain it to the husband eventually, he will surely want to know why I am staring at myself so much

I always thought this too!! I still had no luck "sensing" it either. I absolutely physically see this. Funny you say that about closing your eyes, because if I look at it and then close my eyes I can see it absolutely clearly for a while after closing them!

Is my mind totally in the gutter or did it sort-of come across like some New Age porno at first?

No offense to it at all, but I had to wonder for a second there what I was getting myself into

Its pretty cool isnt it. It is the primary reason I started looking at and eventually practicing meditation, to feel more of this reality.

Like the poster above said about 'feeling' the aura, I believe there is truth to this, since the aura is existng at the level of mind, not actual light. I think that our ability to see is more internal than the physical eyes, so the result is seeing even though there is not physical blue light eminating from a person. The fact that seeing auras is a part of mind, one would want to practice ways to lower the noise in the mind and let it be more aware of the subtle energy.

I started a thread waaaaaay back when I first started coming to ATS about seeing auras.
Check it out, it might help a little.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

It is a rather handy ability to have, especially when dealing with other people and their emotional status. If you see a glow around someones head while talking to them, pay attention to how it changes depending on what you say. Try to get it to glow as brightly as possible thru your words. It should dim if they do not agree/like what you say and brighten when they do agree/like. You can make a person grin ear to ear and walk away thinking that was the coolest conversation ever.

It actually was. The movie gave an overview of the first nine insights but was nothing compared to the book. I have read the first three books of the series. I love the books and just found out about them two months ago.

Peace to you.

There are basic definitions you can research for what the different colors and shapes mean. In my (and others') experience, the meanings are often able to be intuited by whoever is seeing the aura. We all see the world(s) differently. Try meditating on the meanings of the colors and shapes and see if you can gain personal understanding.

I couldn't even finish that movie, it did not do the book justice at all. I remember seeing my first aura. It was a beautiful experience on an Easter morning. I was at a sunrise service, and my father in law was preaching just in front of the sunrise. It was beautiful and I was touched by what he was saying. He began to glow radiantly and then my husband looked over at me and said, "Do you see that?"...it was amazing.

Tadpoles is a cool way to see it! Always saw them as "bubbles".

I love that we see the same thing haha

Yeah i find when I am looking into the sky or the sun there is like you described waves of energy, and when my focus seems closer and closer there are bubbles spinning around and dis-appearing and reappearing, thats why I said tatpoles and sometimes there is more of just mist filling in between everything. Of course how aware I choose to be depends on my mood haha.

Mood has everything to do with it! You mind has to be in a specific place. Almost like you have to tune in to a different frequency. Some days it's easier than others.
