U.S. Scientist Patents Time Machine. Possible Connection To John Titor?

I just read an interesting article on Before Its News. Now I know that BIN isn't the most credible of sites but they weren't lying when they said a scientist had filed a patent for a 'time machine'.

An American scientist, Marlin B. Pohlman is a man of many talents—and a very busy man.

According to his bio he's the Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance product strategy for a major Bay area enterprise software company. Despite the demands of his career, he's also managed to author three text books on IT governance and security. In whatever spare time such a man has left, he found enough of it to invent a time machine

Now if that wasn't interesting enough Before Its News (or the author of the article) claims that there are connections between the inventor (Marlin B. Pohlman) and his invention to the legendary time traveller John Titor.

Those intimately familiar with the incredible story believe that Pohlman may be the mysterious John Titor. They claim some of the schematics appearing in the patent filing are the same as ones that appeared in the GE manufacturer's manual that described the operation of the military-issued time machine that Titor claimed transported him from 2036 back to the 1970s and then forward to his parent's Florida home in 2000.

I haven't gone too deep into researching the possible credibilty of this 'connection'. I thought it would be more fun and productive for us ATSer's to do this one as a team.

I think we should start with the patent and the man who filed it, Marlin B. Pohlman.

IDK if he's John Titor or not, but the possible connection is fascinating to speculate on. I have a problem with the patent claim though. I think that in order to patent something, it actually has to work. And unless this guy knows more than he's telling, there is no way to make it work until (according to the OP) someone can actually harness a singularity.

If we had that technology, we would be what Michio Kaku calls a Type 3 civilization, controlling the power of an entire galaxy ( I think that's Type 3, I don't remember exactly.) I do remember that he said we are currently a Type 0 civilization.

*Gee, since he made up the scale, you'd think he'd at least make us a Type 1 civilization.

I can't seem to find much on Marlin apart from his book, Oracle Identity Management: Governance, Risk, and Compliance Architecture, Third Edition. A google search also comes up with this site.

To be honest I haven't a clue what the book or site is about.

I have a personal way of time travelling..
Would be awesome if we did actually develop an efficiently working time machine. When I say awesome I do mean in the traditional sense. When you start stepping the game up with things like time travel you've gotta be a lot more careful with your toys.

At the moment, our present way + time travel could only equal to mayhem.

No doubt economic powers of some kind would have the stranglehold. Using the technology for economic, political and influential gain.

It doesn't have to work you can patent an idea and design alone;

Unlike copyrights, patents protect the idea or design of the invention, rather than any tangible form of the invention, and so patenting something is a much trickier procedure than copyrighting something. To patent something you have invented (whether it's a product or some sort of process

But has he ever made it work,or is it all still just theory.

Not sure what to make of this. Perhaps the internet security specialist is having some fun with patents( and conspiracy theorists)? Or perhaps Marlin B. Pohlman has nothing to do with this? The patent date of application is 2004 - 7 years ago.

So from what I can see we are left with 3 possible explanations....

Marlin B. Pohlman is John Titor,

Marlin B. Pohlman Copied / was inspired to look into the design presented by John Titor,

Marlin B. Pohlman completely independently came up with the patent, and there could be some basis to the whole thing ?

Have I missed a scenario out ?

I am reading his paper now. I'm about halfway through. I wont pretend I understand all of it, but I understand enough of it to know it's not just hocus pocus crap, it's discussing real concepts using valid science and math to collaborate his theories. So far the most remarkable thing I have learned is exactly how many "quintessences" constitute an electron. And let me tell you, if he's correct, scientists have a long way to go.

I saw this on the Titor site awhile ago but I thought it had already been posted here.

I read through the actual patent and saw that its based on "Quintessence"
smallest possible measured unit there is. That's what the "Micro Singularity" supposedly is.

There are also lots of maths in there which I didn't quite understand.

Very interesting, ill be watching this thread since the Titor drama hasnt seen much additional info come out. Some side by sides of these patent pics would be interesting.
