Ron Paul is an isolationist, atleast compared to the others.

Watch and allow this pretty lady to explain the difference between 'isolationism' and 'non-interventionism' to you.

www.youtube.com...

I was stating fact however, that his views on US foreign involvement is one of the major reasons to why he hasn't been able to reach out to the majority of GOP voters. This is fact, this is reality, if you choose not to accept this, I can't force you to think otherwise.

You kind of remind me of Paul Begala, yet you're trying to speak for the majority of GOP voters? That seems to be quite a claim to make. I assume you haven't personally spoken to the majority of them, so I assume you're using "scientific" polls that are run by the same interests that own the mainstream media that ignores him. The ones that rely on random afternoon phone calls to a few hundred land lines (which many people don't have anymore), when most people besides the elderly are at work, or school. Ones that probably ask leading questions, but we'll never know since we don't see the questions, or how they were asked. But of course, you dismiss all online polls that take a much larger sample, I know I know, Ron Paul supporters "flood" the polls. Just like we're gonna do election day. Again, the situation is much different in this country now. He already has MUCH more support than he had in 2008, so it's time to let go of the past. His support is snowballing down the hill...

He specifically calls his foreign policy "non-interventionism"

If you want to call it non-interventionism, that's fine, it is not gaining him much among his share of GOP voters, regardless of how you view it.

Your wanting to perpetuate the status quo

I'm a fraud and now I'm peretuating the status quo, ok.

I think they're all afraid of the Big Bad Boogeyman... it's fear based ignorance, not involved with reason and intellect.

Look, if Ron Paul can pull in these GOP votes in the primaries then you have nothing to worry about. Bluffing about Ron Pauls chances and this fear of his critics will not change his chances of getting the nomination all that much.

No I don't speak for GOP voters, but I know what most of them want, and they don't want somebody like Paul from the vibe I'm getting in the Republican primaries.

so I assume you're using "scientific" polls that are run by the same interests

Where have a used scientific polls? And it is funny how you are now trying to discredit scientific polls in favour of strawpolls that can be manipulated so easily. But hey, I guess Bachmanns win over Paul was legit right? Right.

that own the mainstream media that ignores him.

The mainstream media doesn't give Ron Paul as much attention that his loyal and faithful supporters do.... you are correct in this.

He already has MUCH more support than he had in 2008,

That remains to be seen.

Excellent!

Ron Paul is slowly capturing the hearts of the American smart. But even the dumb are starting to like him. Let's face it: He's humble. Unassuming. Non-interventionalist. The smarter public longs for his wisdom and real change you CAN believe in! And best of all, he is guided soundly by Constitutional principle with every issue there is. We NEED this man as President- if there is any hope left at all.

Ahhem....

Please go into detail in reguards to your identification of "smart" americans, and "dumb" americans.

Also, you seem to put alot of faith into this mans ability to change the government. How has he shown the potential to do so?

I know some people don't care about this, but I do, I find Ron Paul knowledge of the bible to be impressive, especially it's application to be used in modern times. This may scare some people away, yet what bible advocate do you know wants drugs to be legal? This man is very unique in his belief structures.
Although a christian, he knows the federal government can never legislate morality.
In many ways he is so far ahead of the curve of some Christians that want the federal government to enforce their belief structures, it's impossible and he know that.

No, he calls it non-interventionism not me. Do you know the difference? Do you know what Paul says about it, where it comes from, what it means? It doesn't matter how I view it or you or anybody else it is the correct foreign policy for the present time.

I don't think I've ever called you a fraud, maybe ignorant but I don't think I called you a fraud yet. But the point of the sentence which you conveniently cut off was that if you supported the status quo you were insane.

See here's your problem, you think I give a crap what the rest of the gop will accept. What they want is status quo and Paul represents a new way of trying to make this country work productively and with the proper moral heading. I am voting for Paul whether people like you say he has a chance or not. I am not going to vote for anyone other than him because they are ALL the same pieces of garbage, lying, sobs. please stop being so dense.

Check out some of the headlines following this latest poll, it's way beyond blatant. When Bachmann, and Cain win ONE straw poll, it's headline news for a week and they are rocketing to 'front-runner' status. This is what happens when Ron Paul wins...

But you agree with him? No? I don't see much difference between being a none-interventionist and being and isolationist. Isolationism is the more extreme end of non-interventionism where a country does not involve itself in wars beyond that of it's defense. Ron Paul however goes beyond merely being a non-interventionist as he has advocated the removal of the US out of the UN along with ending US involvement in NATO. I don't see much wrong with this. There haven been arguments over this notion and isolationism also includes barring any immigration, preventing international trade completely, but it is very hard for a nation to truly take that stance.

If it will make you happy, I'll certainly say that Ron Paul could just be a non-interventionist, but then, going right back to the GOP voters, many of them don't like this. They don't like his stances on Iran either.

I don't think I've ever called you a fraud,

I've been called a fraud in another comment, I never specifically said you referred to me as a fraud. However you did refer to me as some blind supporter of the status quo, which is a personal attack nevertheless.

If you want to debate without needlessly refering to me as all kinds of things, I'm happy to continue in a more friendlier discussion.

See here's your problem, you think I give a crap what the rest of the gop will accept.

I do care about what the rest of the GOP voters accept and vote for, because in the end they may veryvwell vote in another dubya to bring this country down further from where it is. I'm sure you care verymuch about the idea of democratic voters supporting Obama again. I'm not sure what shifting off any care about what GOP voters think is going to help with Ron Paul's chances, unless you really don't care as to whether he gets voted in or not. If you really don't care about him being voted in then I must say, what a waste of time, in your case.

Paul represents a new way of trying to make this country work productively and with the proper moral heading. I am voting for Paul whether people like you say he has a chance or not.

Hey, I'm not stopping you from voting and supporting him. Go ahead, and while you're at it, continue to spread his word. If this is a worthy cause, your investment in this man as a presidential hopeful, then who am I to stop you? I just think he's a fringe candidate with minimal appeal among the voting public, and I think his supporters (like yourself) are far from reality, but hey, that's my view.

if you change that to "far from the status quo." I have no problem with it
