This is the first time I have heard of the "time slip" phenomenon, and reading about it gave me a major revelation from 10 years ago. Particularly the part about things getting incredibly silent.

During summer when I was 14, myself and 3 other friends had snuck out around 3 am, and were roaming the streets of an urban Sarnia, Ontario neighborhood. No drugs or alcohol were involved. We were walking back to our friend's house from the local 24/7 convenience store, and this is when the bizarre incident happened.

We were walking on the left sidewalk of a well lit 2 lane main road, talking and laughing, when we all noticed two people (roughly 100 yards away) walking towards us on the opposite sidewalk. It was a man and women holding hands, dressed in what I described as very old fashioned "Amish looking" clothes. Obviously it never occurred to me that they were "time displaced". They looked like they were cheerful and conversing with each other, but here is the thing. We all fell dead silent when we saw them because it was so odd. Aside from the convenience store clerk, we hadn't seen another person all night (again, it was around 3 am). As they got closer and eventually passed us on the opposite side of the road, never once looking at us, it was like the entire world had gone silent. Even as they were about 25 feet away from us, we couldn't hear a peep from them, even though they were clearly moving their mouths in a conversation. At one point we all looked at each other spooked and said "what the f???" When they had passed us, we stopped and watched them walk away for a minute or two until they turned a corner.

We ALL were convinced we had seen ghosts, there was no other explanation at the time and all four of us had seen the exact same thing. Over the years we occasionally told the story to people when the subject of ghosts came up, and we all agree it was the most surreal experience.

I have a very hard time believing in something like "timeslip" but it blew my mind when reading some of the links because they closely describe what we saw and felt.

I'm posting less and less because so much has been said before - by me and everyone else. I log in, star and flag and maybe send comments by u2u. Hopefully, posting some threads will keep my interest in all this weirdness occupied.

Abduction stories have always been fascinating, especially with drawings to depict creatures or places but so much for it. It's more interesting to read them than whole books that are TL
R and what makes them cooler is that they claim to be true, while a sci fi book you know is made up. The feeling of 'it could be true' is what makes them so exciting besides the stories themselves.

And so much for it, it will be never proven. There's a 1 hour interview with Betty Hill the most 'real' abduction and there is no proof. Now I dont want to change the topic which is about this case specifically but in Betty Hill's interview she showed some old photos with lights in the sky again never a clear picture.

Or another by the name of Miriam Delicado who talks about similar.

This here is the same, another interesting read but that's it, just a story. DOn't you ever get tired of even talking about the same thing over and over again in these forums? I do.

This sounds very much like the story talked about in the Travis Walton case that was made into the movie "Fire in the Sky".

Also like the incident in Stephensville where they guy was hunting during that rash of UFO sightings down here.

Man. Not so sure I wanna go deer hunt now !

The "time slip" reminds me of when one steps into the "Fairly land" outside of Avalon. Time is distorted and everything is kinda "up ended".

Thanks for the post.

Hey, sorry about the lousy link to the Federal Writers Project. Here is a better one. I think you will have fun seeing who some of the writers were...

I wonder how the being gave him the pills without having any hands.....Did they just appear? Or did they come out of the cone type apparatus the being had for a hand? Very strange.

Great post, thanks for sharing!

I strongly believe this man had an encounter. I join this site only, and only because the man described exactly the same race of Alien that has been haunting me since childhood. I have posted "drawings" on my facebook page in Nov of last year and another person in a traumatic reaction has seen this type of 'being'.

If the webmaster contacts me I can provide them with these pictures and also one that I can't figure out what it is.

So you have a real photo and only webmasters would be shown what you have?

I dont think that story on page 1 is real, it just looks like one of the many made-up stories. The only abduction story or should I say close encounter of the fourth kind is Betty Hill's. In her interview she shows some unclear pictures (how typical) but let's just say the examination done on her dress and the stains on it show a little more credibility.

I just dont believe that story in this thread, it's another fiction to me.

The Aftermath

Various sources claim the front-wheeled drive truck could not have got there by itself and it’s anyone’s guess how true that is. In terms of follow-ups, researchers should have gone out there and checked for tire-tracks. Anyway, it had to be towed out and he was taken to hospital in poor shape…

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK?
in 1974?
nope.

No us automaker sold a front wheel drive pickup truck in 1974.
sorry. Trucks are rearwheel drive, 4 wheel drive or a very very few were all wheel drive, but nope, no US automaker sold a front wheel drive truck model.

Either a serious typo or a story from someone who doesnt know what they are talking about.

Interesting point. I'll look into it.

UFO stories are prone to embellishments after the fact. Some UFO researchers frequently push *mysterious* aspects and end up undermining the incidents and their own credibility.

As far as what model 'truck,' I don't think I've seen it mentioned.

I love your logic Kandinsky, you were one of the guys who influenced my skepticism. I mentioned in an intro thread earlier, that my journey through ATS has been one of gullibility to skepticism, you are one of the guys to thank for that, along with phage, chadwickus, OZ weatherman and believe it or not, Mor1arty... These are just who I remember off the top of my head, if there are more, I apologise, I will hopefully have a clearer head tomorrow.

Thanks a lot for those words; very much appreciated. I also took the path of being rather gullible and then skeptical/ish.

As for m0r1arty? You've picked out one the best guys on ATS and one I class as a friend. He's been post-banned for months, but, like the Shakespearean Jester, it doesn't make his comments any less right...as they often were. Chad and Phage don't need the compliments, but they're friends too.

With the posting limits, it's a bit like writing an article or assignment to a specific word count. It's still 'tl/dr' and 'who reads links?' Apart from model of truck, everything is in the OP or linked in articles/ sources.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the thread - it's a small side-track from *normal* UFOs and some of the regular thread content. Take it easy Tox

I didn't know that about Mor1arty, I would really like his posting abilities to be re-instated... if he would want to post.

Please mods?

Hey Kandinsky,

Great post. I found an old excerpt of this story. The story is more compelling than I thought, much more compelling.
