The Boston Massacre of 1770 or as the English called it..."The Boston Riot" due to and in response to unpopular Parliamentary legislation.which eventually lead to the support of the Revolutionary War.

And the founding of our Great Nation...who sought freedom from Tyrannical rule and unfair taxation without representation.

The Boston Massacre, called the Boston Riot by the English, was an incident on March 5, 1770, in which British redcoats killed five civilian men. British troops had been stationed in Boston since 1768 in order to protect and support crown-appointed colonial officials attempting to enforce unpopular Parliamentary legislation. Amid ongoing tense relations between the population and the soldiers, a mob formed around a British sentry, who was subjected to verbal abuse and harassment. He was eventually supported by a small company of troops, who were assaulted by verbal threats and thrown objects. They fired into the crowd, apparently without orders, instantly killing three people and wounding others. Two more people died later of wounds sustained in the incident.

The Boston Massacre, as great as it looks today, is not what the founders wanted when they wrote up the Articles of Confederation and the U.S. Constitution.

Yes it is a riot, but if mobs had run the day, we would have been France. We would have had something like the Jacobin terror with people getting executed left and right. Then some dictator might have taken over.

I also love the fact that people use to bash the tea party and call them names, and this OWS movement has had more arrests and more incidents of illegal activity then any of the rallies combined.....

then protest the ones making the laws, the politicians.........if the politicians and gov officials werent corrupt,

they set the tone for the corporations by telling them what they can and cannot do,and holding them accountable........THAT is the source......

The Boston Massacre is a good example of what happens when mob's take to the streets. People get killed due to over reaction. Our founders used this incident to raise support for the revolution. It is also a possibility it was engineered for this purpose, although this is just speculation. It certainly was exploited by Paul Revere.

I feel this is the same thing happening in the OWS protest. I am not sure who is orchestrating them, but the spin machines are definitely at work attempting to co-op them.

Sorry man I have to disagree. If you pay attention to her body language it is very obvious that she finds logic a threat to her current belief system. (rolling her eyes, looking off camera for queues, and the smug look on her face). I have to say that she is an idiot of the highest caliber because her report is directly putting the protests in a bad light by calling them MOBs and sensationalizing the fact that people are being arrested.

What she's not saying is that people are being arrested for small municipal violations because they are practicing civil disobedience by not complying with the wishes of police. It's amazing what message you can covey when you use doublespeak. Furthermore she's also ignoring the fact that there are people from both sides of the fence (republicans and democrats) there. This is no longer a left vs. right problem. It is a mathematical and societal issue that needs to be fixed so the top 1% fatcats aren't pulling the strings to further screw us. They have lost touch with the reality of a smooth economy and will be the undoing of it if something isn't done. The 1% don't care and would rather see us dead and starving. Why do we allow sociopaths to run our economies and our country?

I think she's incredibly smart to the point that she plays the character of "Ann Coulter" on these talking head spots. I believe that these intelligent people like her and Rush and Bill O' Reilley know EXACTLY what they're doing. These people are not stupid. They know the game and they play the game. Its all a just really high paying acting gig to them.

Because like all FOX News liberals, he is weak and ineffectual, only put on so that the conservatives can thoroughly trash anything he has to say.

MSNBC does the same thing with Conservatives they parade out. They are just fluff so that the bias of the network isn't completely obvious to even a 4 year old.

There is no point in adding any further comments about the cartoon creature "Mz. Coulter", or anyone who takes her seriously other than just as a side note of an additional loud noise in the "look at me" sensationalist media chatter.

The Boston Massacre cannot be compared to the Occupy movement. The mob in Boston purposefully antagonized the Brits, throwing rocks etc in order to successfully get them to open fire and cause the spark which rallied the people and got them on their way to active rebellion.

The Occupy folks are making a difference in a different way. The media is finally covering this, and it is growing in momentum. Some say its just unemployed kids, transients and hippies, but this is not the case. It shows that with enough people a voice can be heard and this is very uplifting. Many feel like they can't make any difference so they don't even bother to vote, but now there is proof to the contrary.

I wonder what the phase 2 and 3 of this movement will bring?
