All techno music sounds the same. It takes very little talent to create something like that. I have been playing instruments since I was 12, and most
of my family are musicians, and I have been around live performances since I was little...I know talent when I hear it, and this person doesn't have
it.
Most people don't realize that the really great musicians aren't famous. Some of them become famous, and even more end up as studio musicians, but
the majority are just everyday folks.
Most of what you hear on the radio, especially with alternative rock and whatnot, is performed by simply decent musicians. The majority of them
aren't great. I have done my fair share of recording, in actual studios and at home, and anyone that can halfway play an instrument can be made to
sound good...
Live performances are when it all comes out. But then again, anyone can practice certain songs over and over again, so even decent musicians can play
their own songs. But being able to sit in with people you have never played with before, and to play songs you have never heard before, that is
talent, and that is a great musician.
I know people who have, but I haven't, reached the level where no matter what the song, you just KNOW where the music is going. You can just feel it,
and therefore play it.
