I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired with all the spiritual milk and cookies generally provided around here as sustenance. I want some MEAT and potatoes, with gravy, a real meal, something I can sink my teeth into.

Well I think I might have found it, because it's just filling me right up nicely, and giving me a new fresh appropach and appreciation, for the mystery of Jesus, and the secret of his wisdom and power.

So without further adeiu I offer you

Spiritual Authority, by Watchman Nee
(available on-line)
www.teachtheword.com...

What was Jesus' secret? Obediance. Trust and obey.

I'll come back and post more on how I am beginning to understand this, and my oh my what a revelation, but for the time being, I wanted to make the book available, for those who will.

on Watchman Nee
www.watchmannee.org...

Interestingly, although I never attend, and only went to a couple of meetings at one point via a friend of mine, "the church" founded by Nee and Lee of China, are the one's who baptised me, they (a few of their reps) travelled an hour from Toronto, and baptised me in my swimming pool at the appartment building I used to live in! It was fun. That was at least 10-12 years ago now, and I'm only just beginning to understand what it meant.

I hope you enjoy the book, and this discussion.

God Bless, with Love,

NAM

That very sentiment goes against everything that most of us here on ATS stand for: Question everything, when you find something to be based on ignorance, deny it!

As a bit of a spiritual warrior of sorts myself, or so I like to think.. I am particularly enamored with ideas and understandings, what I call "grokkings" to borror a term, grok, from Robert Heinlein's "A Stanger in a Strange Land", which means to have deep understanding, to eat and drink and integrate a new understanding - which shake the crumbling dominion of Satan's false and deluded kingdom (founded on lies to the father of lies), to it's very core, and upon that rock, together we can build a real world of the type that Jesus himself and the father had in mind. The infrastructure is already in place for a new conception of ourselves and our place in the cosmos. I think it's high time that things came to a head, right across the entire spectrum of all being and becoming, so as to put this universal controversy surrounding the issue of spiritual authority, to rest. There is a great and supreme revelation contained in the "grokking" of Nee's exegesis of the New Testament, imho.

At the very least, it's certainly opened up for me, a whole new domain and dimension of our Lord and Savior and our Triune Godhead, who as Nee or Lee would say, was processed for our enjoyment.

Enjoy the Lord!

My friend who once took me to those meetings of "The Church in Toronto" she used to always say that, and it used to drive me mad trying to understand what it really meant "enjoy the Lord", to me then, it sounded like an absurd platitude from the brainwashed - but now, I am beginning to understand it, and it brings both tears to my eyes and a smile to my face.

Oh YOU are just getting a glimpse of the gates my friend.

Keep going!

Do not look back,

and trust NO ONE but yourself.

To thine ownself be true.

When you arrive, oh will you be welcomed.

With Love,

Your Brother

Yes, but it all depends doesn't it. There must be something to trust and obey, and if that very something is the will to love and to growth, understanding and conscious awareness, as synonymous with the will of God, and the spirit of truth and love that IS God, then it's a whole new ballgame, and an entirely different frame of reference by which all ignorance IS denied, and not without coming to grips with it's utter absurdity and nonsense. What's left when all that is gone - this is the one to trust and obey don't you see?

And don't forget we are talking about the NT Jesus here, who reframed or framed more perfectly, everything, to himself. My trusting and obeying, the one RIGHT thing, he subjugated the whole world beneath his feat, and stood tall relative to the whole of it all, and then acted and spoke for all the right reasons, motivated for the right reason, in a right way of being. Trust and obey what is holy just and true. Yes, deny ignorance. You mistook the premise of the argument.

Best Regards,

NAM

With all due respect thank you, and I also refer you to my last post above as to the implications of what I'm really getting at here.

And thanks to double I AM for your sentiment. Yes you do "grok" I see.

I will add trust an obey yourself, because as for me you are the one who´s speaking and sharing your feelings with us. I believe in you, no matters if you believe in god or whatever you want. You are a seeker, and seekers sooner or later finds exactly what they´re looking for. Truth.

UGK was a spiritual guru. Here is a video of what he really thought. His death bed was revealing. Jesus words on the cross were also revealing. There is a stark contrast.

Good thoughts. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you." Faith comes with trust and obedience is a byproduct of faith. Great post. LINK

While it may begin with faith the size of a tiny seed, it doesn't begin and end in faith alone, nor in works, but the beginning of knowledge, the knowledge of experience, of right thinking and being, out of which right doing and creative action flows spontaneously. So it's both trust and obey in submission to the will of God AND entirely liberating, in the freedom to love, and to be more fully self expressed, as the spirit of love that we already are within God as our condition. We can freely go through this gate, and come and go, finding new pasture, and that's a new domain of experience in resurrection, like a regenerative principal for the soul. Once we are under the right authority, and Jesus makes this a certainty, if we believe in him and take him at his word and character, then within that framework, how can we go wrong? Or or what can oppose us? Even our errors or shortcomings start getting worked out to the greater good for those who love God first and foremost, and their neighbor as their self, as we are first loved. it is a house! A heavenly household, built upon and framed by the sovereign will of God. There is no Satanic principal operating in this house, in this domain. What's old has passed away or is fast passing away, to be quickly, and even instantaneously replaced by a novel form, and a new experience of new life. We are reborn, not by flesh but by spirit, and spiritual wisdom, the key, once again, being the authority under which and to which we are submitted, just like Jesus. The only life worth living, the only lasting joy and happiness resides witihn the domain of this submission of the will in service to the highest will there is, the will to love. But it's also powerful, and virtuous, where virtue may be thought of as power restrained.

God bless you, because if you believe in me, then you believe in the one I love, and because I believe in you, and love you, and love everyone, then we are in one accord!

oh no, I'm starting to sound just like IAMIAM!

The key, again, is the right authority, which is the same one Jesus trusted and obeyed, and because he blazed that trail, we cannot err when we follow him, having a sympathetic, harmonious connection with him, and with his virtue and his powre and wisdom. The only one who gets usurped in all of this, is the one of delusion and lies, who curses man before God day and night, in his (their) prescence, God prepares us a table. What are we to do, but take our seats, however crippled we may be, as we make our approach.

I just hope I haven't placed my pearls before swine to be trampled unto foot by ignorant men, but you know something, in the final analysis I have to have more faith in people than that, call me crazy!

Come to the table then, all who are hungry and who thirst, it's free, and of course we all want high quality free stuff!

To oppose it, is absurd, utterly absurd. It just can't be done, imho.

That's the "good news", this is good news, I bring good news! The kingdom of heaven is STILL at hand, it's not too late!

Phew, I was really starting to get worried there for a bit, what was I thinking, dear Lord let thy will, not mine, be done.

All in good time.

Patience, is what I need, here manning the door, free tickets extended to the party of all ages..

Come on in! Let's get this party started!

people like IAM give me hope of that day...

Though i admit my doubt because i have little faith in my species as a whole

Psst. God's table is a round table.

Such as any Good King would build his Kingdom around.

Some call me Arthur Phillip Peterson (Peterson derived from Peter's Son)
