There is an example in the link below of a news article in todays edition of yahoo news Australia. The thing is its just an example I'm using to show how almost daily they have been writing UFO stories or What if Aliens invaded tomorrow or 2012 etc etc stories, doom and gloom blah blah. I come to ATS for that stuff. _javascript:icon('
') Ive noticed it more since everyone was reporting that that guy claimed the end of the world was coming a few months ago. My question is why? Why are they putting more of these stories on sites that in the past, would have been scrutinised for printing such articles. These stories are really stupid on occasions yet they seem a lot like some of the stories we read about on ATS. No offence. _javascript:icon('
') But its kind of kid stuff they don't get too deep. Could the powers that be be orchestrating ways of dumbing us down to the idea of alien invasion etc. Anyways check out the link, the article is a decent read. Peace !!

ratings and hits are all that matter to these sites, whatever is popular at the time will get attention.
No alien invasion imminent, they are still just lurking in the shadows.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for saying this and I have never been overly religious but I believe Harold Camping was right. A friend and I had a pretty interesting experience that night, but that's a whole other story too long to put in a reply.

But who knows, maybe people are waking up and realizing that this stuff could very likely be possible

The Vatican has had a contingency plan for that for many years - Vatican says aliens could exist

You are correct in your observation that the alien visitation scenario has been presented in the media as a probability quite a lot this year.
I'm sure you have seen this before but this year it is beginning to ring true:

If I were in charge of Project Bluebeam, I'd have been concerned about how to replicate an alien invasion to the standards of Hollywood CGI to which we are all accustomed. Wouldn't it be far easier to skip the industrial Independence Day style UFOs, or the old Flying Saucer craft and instead introduce a larger version of the ghost hunter's orb as the potential threat? Look at the masses of Youtube videos of OVNIs - lately they have become focused on only two types of craft - the triangle (3 points of light with a light in the middle) or a white ball, occasionally multi-coloured ball, of light. Production costs for that event would be much cheaper and easier to stage than trying to fake a city-sized saucer.
The other possibility with the incease in MSM coverage of potential alien invasion is that we are indeed expecting contact (publicly - we get to hear about it last).

ive always thought about this.

what WOULD christians say if we discovered intelligent life somewhere in the universe.

no doubt they'd try to reconcile it by changing the meaning of some things in the bible.

but what if the aliens had either a completely different belief system or were just atheist?

would you still believe in religion?

Probably won't worry muslims too much (see bold in quote below):

The Qur'an refers often to "the realm which is beyond the reach of human perception" (al-ghayb), while God is frequently spoken of as "the Sustainer of all the worlds" (rabb al-alamin): and the use of the plural clearly indicates that side by side with the "world" open to our observation there are other "worlds" as well - and, therefore, other forms of life, different from ours and presumably from one another, and yet subtly interacting and perhaps even permeating one another in a manner beyond our ken.

The above is from an appendix in "The meaning of the Qur'an" by Muhammad Asad where he is explaining the term 'Jinns' (demons/spirits) used in the Qur'an. Asad's translation of the Qur'an into English is very well rated by a lot of people (he was Leopold Weiss, jew turned muslim, & assisted in the formation of Pakistan).

One thing to consider is the possibility that the US is going broke because of the cost of wars. Perhaps we should consider the possibility that in the same way the Roman Empire grew too big to sustain its ownership of foreign lands that it sent the empire broke which in turn caused the empire to collapse, perhaps this is happening to the US and they can see it coming.

Perhaps with the impending economic catastrophe the US has decided to bring on Karen Rosins predictions sooner rather than later so they can cut and run from the war in Afghanistan. After all, if they have to get out how could they do so without loosing face and embarrassing their allies and themselves in the eyes of the world?

At least with a false UFO invasion they will then get money of other countries.
Just a possibility that’s all.

I agree that this is just what's hot at the moment. It's what happened after Orson Wells live broadcast of the War Of The Worlds skit. In due time, this will become old news, once we realize that aliens are probably smart enough to know that our finger is on the trigger, and we'd all be nuked!

Match in the gas tank BOOM BOOM!

Yes, you are right! the thing of it is, we, the informed mavericks, have a leg up on the general herd (mixed metaphor work?)
The point to be understood by you and others is that the message, the real realization of what is coming down, is being discussed in the middle of the herd (MSM) in a serious fashion. So us mavericks are getting heard and justification...finally.

Really, how much water, and earth-like planets have to be found before the world comes to accept that the show ain't all here on Terra, folks?

(I would have expected better from an ATS, maybe you are just a visitor?)

I'm waiting on doing that. I'm going to a shrink soon to see if he knows anyone good with hypnosis or memory recovery. Once I've done that I'll start my own thread.

I agree with whats been said here though, theyre either coming and the public is the last to know (like ususal) or the governments are planning something shady...
