Hugely embarrassing: Daily Mail jumps gun on "Amanda Knox guilty" story

Sky News made a similar mistake. Just a few secs into the judges speech they put a GUILTY banner at the bottom of the screen. It was there for a couple of seconds then removed. I was confused myself listening to it all.

The Daily Maul shouldn't be embarrassed about that, they should be hugely embarrassed about everything they do. They can't even spell words properly, it's obvious nobody proof reads anything. Just yesterday they mentioned Anjelina Jolie's patients was wearing thin.

When Knut the polar bear died there was only 1 comment for about half a day. It said "poor KUNT". I have a screenshot somewhere.

She was found not guilty by a corrupt court of law that bowed to the demands of Washington. She was, quite clearly, guilty. Anyone who's looked at the thousands of pages of evidence know this all too well.

The fact is, if Knox isn't American she doesn't walk free. She was not found innocent for lack of evidence, she was found innocent because of her nationality.

So, that's a 'no' then?

My argument, which is quite clear to anyone who can read, is that the evidence was ignored in favour of political pressure from Washington.

I find it strange that courts treat cases as guilty until proven innocent, even the ones that claim their approach is innocent until proven guilty. Many people who didn't ever do anything wrong are locked up sometimes for years, they lose their job, job experience, family and a lot of times everything they have ever worked for just fighting to prove their innocent. When it's over they don't even get an apology half the time they are just supposed to be happy that they are free even though they didn't do anything wrong.

Firstly I agree with you that all of the media indulge in fear porn however, some do it more than others. For example the DM, The SUN, the defunct News of the world et al....

I actually read all of the papers (to call me a 'fanboy' is therefore inaccurate). In this information war I would advise you to do the same as it helps you to put the pieces together of the larger agenda if you read all of the MSM's propaganda..

Essentially I was saying that I would avoid referencing media outlets such as the DM and people on this board who constantly reference the DM are mentally starved.

I think that's a part of it, but not all of it.

In my opinion, as a frequent visitor to Europe, Europeans in general have a more external "locus of control", they like to blame. It's not that Americans don't do it also, just not as much.

Italy is prosecuting some geologistss on manslaughter charges for failing to predict an earthquake, that's pretty messed up.

You're possibly right. And a huge number of Americans want to believe that she is innocent simply because she is American, one of their own, or perhaps the siege - everybody hates us, we don't care - mentality that they have had for years is clouding their opinions.

The 'rabity' of hate is alive on both sides of the pond, it seems.
