I read the DM for most of my adult life ( I'm in my forties) and I can assure you its no way near as bad as Fox News for one its a newspaper not a news channel.I admit their web site is not as good as the paper and often makes mistakes. However its still the best news website by far and if you know of a better one pleases let me know. I stopped buying the daily and Sunday mail a couple of years ago now I just read on line saving a small fortune that more than pays for my mobile phone contract with unlimited internet.

Try the Telegraph. It's a right wing paper but it's far better written than the Mail, which is essentially a string of opinion pieces masquerading as journalism.

Well if this doesn't show what a load of old crock our tabloid reporting is - I don't know what does. Personally I think they are guilty but even so I hope the media which published this gets sued to the hilt - no matter how quickly they changed the story.

It seems DF is sticking to its guns, now the Knox headline is "Free to make a Fortune". DF has turned into Nancy Grace. Their reporting is awful and full of factual errors, spelling errors and grammar errors.

For some reason I never believed she did it.

This is a perfect illustration of their nature. Implying guilt regardless of the verdict. The Mail hides beneath a veneer of middle class respectability, but they're pretty shabby on the inside. A seething pot of prejudice and showbiz gossip they pretend to despise.

No not all. There are tabloids to be avoided who are known to print utter nonsense e.g. Daily Mail, The Sun Broadsheets are different and there you have to take account of political bias (Guardian, Telegraph,Times, Express and Independant). Ironically enough a very neutral paper for news is the Financial Times.

You can't just dismiss everything the media prints either simply because it conflicts with a belief. The trick is to take what different media prints. For example if the Guardian and the Telegraph print the same story with a similar bias then it's going to be true.

Of course the really paranoid people think every media outlet is controlled by government and any differences are purposely manufactured for appearances

You still read the mail? It was used as toilet paper back at our old house. Wouldn't be the first time they got something wrong.

About the only time I can't blame the DM. They obviously didn't expect Washington to buy Knox a ticket out of prison.

Knox should be in prison. But herp derp she's an American so she can't be guilty, despite the fact she quite clearly is.

Let this be a lesson to certain members on ATS (not mentioning any names), the DM is a joke and using anything they say to back up claims in posts leaves you open to ridicule....

Yes, the evidence is available online for anyone to read.

She was found not guilty by a corrupt court of law that bowed to the demands of Washington. She was, quite clearly, guilty. Anyone who's looked at the thousands of pages of evidence know this all too well.

The fact is, if Knox isn't American she doesn't walk free. She was not found innocent for lack of evidence, she was found innocent because of her nationality.

all papers indulge in fear porn, the Guardian would indulge in one sided fear porn, for example, on matters environmental.

I love these fan boys for one particular paper or the other.............

Yup this made me smile, the first time ive had a smile reguading the papers for a while.

As terrible as it to do what they have done, the fact they did it all to themselfs for themselfs makes it so delicouisly ironic. I hope they get ripped to shreds, a fitting end since their paper ends up that way eventually.

The Daily Fail should just stick to what they're good at - pointing out the cellulite on C-list celebrities thighs.

If I ran a media company that tried to verify sources and publish factual stories, I'd be offended by that statement "Shows up the media for what they are."

It would be more accurate to say it shows up the daily mail for what it is. And the Daily Mail is not representative of all media.

I think most of us knew before this, that the Daily Mail wasn't a reliable source.
