If this method of attempting change continues and grows, we will succeed in changing this society for the better.

Violence isn't a change! It is the same thing that we have been doing for 5,000 years.

That was amazing... And people say only violence will bring a revoultuion... NO, all it takes is for everyone to STOP FEEDING THE MACHINE, that's why meditation is the perfect protest, it is refusing to fall in as the slaves they have forced us to be. Prove that you are the better people... Like Martin Luther King Jr. said:

“The Arc of the Moral Universe Is Long, but It Bends Toward Justice”

I love it, and I can meditate longer than anyone I know (except Buddha Boy, lol).
Hope to see more of these pop up, I'd participate.

Thanks for all your replies...I think this was the most significant moment at the protests! Peace reigns supreme!....Love it!

This is the kind of protest world wide I'd like to see. Writing in and sending letters every single day, to various major political representatives and praying, meditating, for world peace and for a world of complete equality like the Venus Project without the leaders, bankers, royal families, paramilitary or black ops. They all disband and counsels of citizens, half men and women. Rotating shifts. Equality. No copyright, no patents.

Violence and the dollar have been bred into us in every way.

God bless these people for there patience.

Ive been down there and asked about the flash mob meditation sessions. Theyre irregular but something that they're trying to do more often. If you're an ATSer available to do this, it would be a huge benefit to participate when these become more regular!

Most of the 116+ cities that are being or are going to be occupied. Most have some sort of spiritual sessions. The one in my area will have meditation for sure, i also hear some First Nations shamans and the like.

Its a learning experience for everyone! Everyone can learn to meditate. Everyone can learn peace too.

We are only at war with eachother, well, why are we? War profiteering? ITs not civilian saying "I hate you" and war breaks out. Sigh.

The new age is coming, and we will persevere

Perhaps people who cannot attend could also try and meditate on these matters. You don't have to be right there to plug into collective consciousness. Imagine if enough people both there and at home were able to put enough energy into it. the results could be amazing.

I think people need to find ways to attend metaphysically, but also to see through this and realize there is a lot more behind the organization of all the protests world wide, than average people. And I wonder how we can mean the same thing, change, but not be played like this.

This is a brilliant idea. Not only does it keep protesters calm and lucid, but reduces any chance of the protest appearing "violent" or hostile. Keeping this movement peaceful is the key for getting the message out, and drawing in more supporters. There's also the Law of Attraction aspect of this, and it's magnification of effectiveness when done in groups. Thousands of people all meditating and visualizing the same thing would surely have some effect on our reality. I can't wait to start doing this at the KC occupation.

Meditation is the opposite of 'wall street.' Wall street is about working frantically to make a buck, meditation is about being calm and finding inner happiness. Wall street is about outwards superficial status symbols. Meditation is about wisdom and clarity. This is a wise direction for the protest movements.

This is so inspirational.

Might I post a video I also found very inspirational while looking at OWS videos?

This is the kind of stuff that is going to turn the general public off the protesters. Meditation and drum circles? REALLY?? Are you kidding me? This plays right into the mainsteam media attempts to marginalize the protestors as "freaks," "hippies" and "leftists."

Do you want to really connect with the masses, or have a hippie yoga session?

The protestors claim to represent "the 99%" but in my humble opinion, new-agey stuff is not representative of the 99%.

This is too serious for self-indulgence and fruity "meditations." This is serious business!!

The protestors need to reach the moms and pops, the hardhats and the taxi-drivers, the sports fans and the beer-fans. NOT the new-age left.

I want this protest to work. The "freakier" it gets, the less it works.

People should be there in clean, pressed white shirts and ties for the men, and modest dresses and blouses for the women, with neatly combed hair. Now THAT would send a message!!

Meditation isn't new-agey.
It has proven health benefits even if youre an atheist. (:

The point isn't whether meditation works or doesn't work.

High colonics work and have health benefits, too. I don't think they are appropriate for serious political demonstrations, however.

Go ahead and do it at your house if you want. DONT drag the protests down by maginalizing the majority of Americans!!!

Again, this is serious, serious business. I will be very angry if it fails because of stuff like this.

I understand what you are saying(:

At the same time, though, I think it is a good way to stay level-headed, and they aren't mandatory. As long as you only do them at camp, and protest when it's time to protest. I think it makes sense.
