It is a bust that is sitting in, carved/molded on, or over imposed on some type of metal supposedly machine. For those who don't know a bust is a the
head and shoulders of a person usually created as a statue, and also used in pieces of jewelry called cameos. A bust can be carved and/or molded into
anything at any size. A bust may or may not have shoulders.
If you look below the face, you can see the neck and where the line goes out straight to the shoulder. This bust does not have shoulders, but sweeps
down in a curve and sweeps up in a curve to where the other shoulder would start. If the picture was clearer, I suspect it would be a bust of a woman,
and maybe a top part of a strapless dress. Then right below it, the shelf or what the bust would sit on.
As far as the entire picture goes, I would like to see the entire room. At least the entire machine, and not just this small part. We really can't
tell 100% what the machine is, unless we can see all of it. How big is the machine really compared to the room, and other items in the room? It looks
big in the picture, but it could actually be much smaller than what we perceive.
