Here's my thoughts on the S&F.
I think the flags play a role of giving you an idea of just how important a topic is to members. Though it's a complete generalization, and you might
not always agree with the importance of a topic, be it few flags or many.
As for stars, I really think they add value to the forum. When I look at the amount of stars a member has, I look at the ratio of stars vs. posts. I
commonly find members who have a 2:1 ratio on stars vs. posts usually have something valuable and/or meaningful to contribute. You'll find that
trolls, biased views, and fear mongers usually have a poor ratio.
If there is any advice I could give to members of ATS, it would be to pay attention to the post/star ratio, and take the words of those
with a poor ratio with a grain of salt.

BTW, I mean no offense to anyone that does not have a great ratio. It's important that everyone gets to express their thoughts and opinions, even if
those thoughts and opinions aren't popular.
