I predict the same over here in Europe ("Yurp" in american
), especially if we federalize into a United States of Europe.

Civil war in America? You must be spending a lot of time
at the democraticunderground.com. Those wingnuts say
they are all set to riot and cause a civil war if George Bush
is reelected.

Civil War

- Yeah but a lot of this 'what's going to happen in the 04 election' fable relies on the situation being just like last time.

If only 50% (or less) bother to vote then yes, you could be right. That 50% is probably split 50-50 as before.

The thing is I don't believe that will happen. I don't see only 50% voting this time and I do see Bush out because of a higher turn-out.

.....unless the electronic voting machines completely rob the electorate, one more time, eh?

- As a Brit and european myself I don't foresee this doom-laden version of europe's future at all.

I don't see euro 'federalism' meaning anything like the threatening thing some portray it as.

Involved, informed co-operation and agreement are not about domination IMO.

Doom laden?!?
It just seems to be part of the developemant of newly formed nations thats all.
History can provide numerous examples.

The growing rift between left and right is going to give at one point and the vacuum created will be filled with a big mess, i think.

Only way this turns into Civil war is if Bush wins. The Democratic left will be in the streets sprewing thier hate mongering, fear to anyone that will give them an ear. They tried to cheat last election, never mind that over a 1000 people voted twice in that election, once in Fla. and once in N.Y., It's estimated that over 26,000 people are registered in both N.Y. and Fla. Wannna bet how many are Republican and how many are Democratic? Yeah your right 11 out of every 12 were Democrats.

Who in their right minds is going to start a war with the other half of the country if their preferece for president doesn't win? This isn't going to lead to a civil war, not by a longshot.

yee-haw!

(always knew my confederate money would one day be redeemable.)

but, seriously, us hillbillies here in west virginia were not for the south (we wound up splitting from the state of virginia, of which we were a part of), but at the same time, we don't like the yanks either!

"MONTANI SEMPER LIBERI" ("Mountaineers are always free").

i'm starting a movement...
"RECESSION FROM A CORRUPT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT- IT'S ABOUT TIME."

redalert, are you trying to equate the South with the Republican party? or are you saying that the south tends to be more Right minded why the north east seems to lean left?

They are neck and neck? thats controled media for you.

1.) Creating a war on lies
2.) Geting the US armry in shethole in iraq to prevent a civil war.

50/50 lol.... This type of stuff gets people sacked, fired, kicked out of government.

50/50 talk about controled media!

Redalert, I agree with you. I use to be a Democrat, but was driven out by the direction that my party was taking, heading to the left. I was an independent for a while, but then I choose to join the republicans. I don't agree with everything, but like miss America 2003 says, I have more in common with the republicans than I do with democrats.

enrage....that's exactly what I was thinking (about John Titor).

Although I'm beginning to believe that the average American could care less about anything as long as they get to buy expensive clothing, drive SUV's, and have beer! Have we as humans become so materialistic and greedy? Well, I'm definitely starting to believe that....otherwise one of the highest rated shows would not be "The Apprentice"!

We are in trouble, yes indeed!

enrage, I am open minded, I know that anything is possible, well maybe not, Kerry will never be acused of being to far right (Ha Ha), please point me in the right direction, I like to read all views before I make up my mind.

lol, who would be fighting in this civil war?
Democratic registered voters vs. Republican registered voters?
Whose side will the independents join? lol
What will the military and national guard be doing?

Civil war? Seriously doubt it.

Attempt on Bush's life if he wins reelection? Unfortunately, that looks like a much higher probability.

These people - www.democraticunderground.com...

They talk about it all the time. Anarchy and civil war if their candidate
doesn't get in. And you are right. They are not in their right minds.
