Just when you can't think you can't find the top ten of this, that or the other....something jumps out.

Top Ten Worst Diseases

10. Black Death - 75 million deaths
9. Polio - 10,000 deaths since 1916
8. Smallpox Native Americans suffer a population drop from 12 Mil. to 235,000
7. Cholera 12,000 Deaths since 1991
6. Ebola 160,000 Deaths since 2000
5. Malaria 2.7 Million Deaths per year-2800 children per day
4. Bubonic Plague 250 Million Europeans Dead (1/3 population)
3. Spanish Flu Between 1918-19: 50-100 Million dead
2. Influenza 36,000 Deaths per year
1. AIDS 25 Million since 1981 and counting

Personally, I feel there are more top ten disease's that could fit in here. However, they would be man made egregious insertions of by products into our food supply, water and medicine. One could really go on a wild conspiracy trip much further.

Please visit the following site with video's for each count: listverse.com...

I did research on Ebola, and the thread is in my signature, and it did NOT kill 160,000 people...

Yes. Which makes the list even more bogus.

We are both in the same shoes. I will call the CDC for us both. :-)

I'm not a virologist or doctor. Truly, I thought the same thing.

It's important to research things on ATS before posting things to everyone.

Umm, I would have to an advanced degree to read through all the medical data and come up with an answer. Thanx for the put down. Ugh!

Not really. You just search Ebola, and you get a chart from the CDC that shows how many deaths and when they occurred. You can do that for all of the other diseases as well.

I'm not putting you down either, you just have to see where misinformation is bad.

Did you bother to look at the video? I'm just asking before you make a blanket statement. I would respect that you would give me better feedback and discuss your conclusions in a manner that is in accordance with ATS standards. I thank you in advance.

No.

Everyone jumping on the author of this thread for publishing a "bogus" list might do themselves a favor to check the very informative links included.

No I didn't, because the video for Ebola isn't available. I am giving you feedback in accordance with ATS standards.

15). Posting: You will not Post any material that is knowingly false, misleading, or inaccurate.

Those can go along with the information you posted, since it is all three.

Now as i've said before, the one for Ebola is wrong, I haven't looked at the other stats because Ebola was the one that jumped out at me first, and it is very incorrect. UNLESS, they are talking solely about other animals, then that may be a realistic statement. Even then, i'm not positive.

Your right so far. Fair enough. I will continue to research to find definitive information that is more reliable. You are right about animals being included in the contagion. However, give me some time to find better facts and figures than Wikipedia or other known false information sites.

Please don't put this argument between us. It's just that I didn't want people to interpret the information wrong. If you go to www.cdc.gov , you can find some very useful information, and easily too !

Oh, no I'm not offended in any way. But I do think there are other sources than the CDC. Were cool. No beef with you. Thanx for pointing the issue out to me.

Wikipedia is not a source, it is a tool and the wiki for Ebola actually has much lower numbers on its page than the headline of the article that links back to it.
Kinda soundes like nobody read it and checked the citations but me?

You are absolutely correct. Up to 1850 people have died from Ebola. Got the information from the World Health Organization. Research definitely makes things more plausible. However, it was a generalized post.

There is no way I could have researched 10 different diseases with any accuracy. This is a conspiracy website. All things posted are not always correct.

Thank you for keeping me on my toes. Here is the link from WHO: www.who.int...

Yes, I was wrong in promoting facts and figures that are not FACTUAL. However, I can't be responsible for every website that promotes inaccuracies. It happens here frequently.

Edited to add: Star for you!
