It sounds like things are heating up in Syria with troops defecting:

Some believe that the defecting can and will lead to Civil War, while others say that it is unlikely and still to early to predict what will
happen.
Unless there are 1000's of soldiers defecting, or a few high ranking officials defecting in public, then the odd few won't make a bit of
different's, and Russia and Iran can't and won't let a civil war ensue.
