Attacking the US with Iranian Naval ships would be suicide not only for those ships but for their country. There would be no doubt as to who was attacking. The US response would be swift and devastating. That is why Iran would not attack that way. Iran supposedly already has Hezbollah sleeper cells here already, a much better way for them to attack. Iran would have some deny-ability regarding the attacks.
