Premiered last night. Anybody see it? I have it DVR'd, but looks like 2 hrs, so wanted to get some feedback before checking it out. From the previews, it looked pretty interesting.

Basic storyline is that people from the future need to escape something, and go back in the past with dinosaurs, to do so.

Curious how they will get past the higher oxygen atmosphere issue (or if they just ignore it)...

I saw some where ...
they were calling it Jurassic Park the series ....

To me it seems like a Land of the Lost with guns

either way I'm gonna give it a go
we'll see what happens

I liked it, it looks like it's got a really good storyline.

Lots of ooohhhhs and ahhhhs in the beginning, then some running and screaming

Worth watching.

They don't ignore it, they make it an issue and they have a way to deal with it

I will check out the next episode...

They wasted no time, once the show started, so did the action. Dont wanna say much else as I dont wan to spoil it but never seeing the original series, I thought this was pretty good.

Its not bad, and except for the white haired general dude from Avatar playing similar character the acting is not bad, I'm more excited to find out that time will also play a role in the series

I'm also a sucker for 2 hour premieres, we'll have to see how long the story remains interesting

edit: also curious how the time travel/butterfly effect will play out given sending all that tech/information/medical stuff back in time

I was searching for a post on this show this morning.

I really liked it. There are already a lot of questions that your waiting for answers on. Kept me interested.
My only concern is that it has the potential to stay entertaining, or go south really, really fast. And it seems like every time I get into a show like this, it gets cancelled!

Remember? The butterfly effect was explained.

I am afraid I did laugh at why they had to go back though...

so your saying Stephen Lang did a bad job acting? Just wondering. And I thought he did a great job in Avatar as the gung-ho commander and i personally like that role and i liek his role in Terra Nova too. Looking forward to the next episode because I also think this is going to be a good series.

I think I missed that part was it at the very beginning?

and yea will have to let a few things slide, like if you have the ability to time travel why not build technology to prevent the destruction of the planet and just send the tech back with a note or something

edit: to ConspiracySquid7 ^^ didn't want to add 1 liner post, so I'll add to this one

not bad to me is good....
, I though all the acting was good, even said actors part in Avatar was good I agree

Watched most of it last night, looks pretty good so far. But. Did anybody else notice where they showed the money that they were going to use to bribe the guard with? Did anybody else notice the face on the bills? Looked alot like obama.

It opens in a world totally ravaged by manmade global warming, so im not so sure how well it will go down around here
Its an enjoyable bit of entertainment, and has good potential if you like your sci-fi lite and more drama oriented than hardcore scientific. The best thing about it is they seem to have done away with the melodramatic music/slow-mo sequences these types of shows are full of these days. well worth a look.

for the most expensive pilot ever made they sure decided to blast the cheese factor, and what the hell was with the crappy computer animated dinosaurs, i've watched b-movies with better effects

It was when the kids were discussing that "probe" that was sent through first.

[more

They created a different time line when they went into the past. They explain how they came to that in the show.

thanks, yea I missed the first 5 minutes or so, I figured that had to be addressed some how, that and obviously the ELE event that killed the dinosaurs or was that explained to?

are there spoiler tags here in this forum's tools?

the fact that Brannon Braga (of Star Trek infamy) is a producer instantly put me off....he destroyed TNG after Roddenberry died and he will kill this show too...give it time.

I found the show to be boring as hell.....you can tell that this is gonna be a show which will have scary sounds but the effects will eventually be driven into the background in favour of the "human issues"...I.E....Jurassic Soap Opera.

I can see it now.....

"I don't have my homework because the raptors ate it....I swear !"

"Mom...I got bit by a 4ft mosquito....do we have any Off Deep Jurassic spray ??"

"Eat your Brontosaurus or no snacks for you !"

"Sally...I told you to go outside and pick up the dino poop!"

Works for me.

Pretty good introduction in first 2 hour episode.

Good characters - good acting - edgy dark actors - - - no out of place Barbie's. One blond main character girl - - cute - - but not over cute. They kept her in character. Even if she did wear a bikini in a couple scenes.

Lots of question marks and open end storylines that can be cultivated.

Love the cute geeky older sister. Great subtle acting.

The first ep pretty much gave us everything. Hot dad - great eyes - goes shirtless. Emo rebellious son - great eyes like dad. Mom's got brains and grit - dad hot head cop for justice. Orphaned blond chick in bikini - - leading rebel teens - - but has brains.

Little sis - - mystical psychic type. I bet that comes out later.

Dinos - - bad guys (or are they) - - leaders missing son - who apparently has an agenda of his own.

Lots of big guns shooting. Man on man brawls. Beautiful scenery.

Definitely kept my attention for 2 hours.

Writing is definitely going to be key to the success of this show. They presented many roads to go down - - and characters that have to be developed.

Hey! There is only one Gene Roddenberry - - he had to have been plugged into something or someone. Braga? Yeah! He just doesn't get it. He doesn't get the "heart" of Star Trek.

But Boring? This show was not boring.

They threw a lot into this first 2 hour ep. A little bit of everything for everyone.

By the way - - the human interest stories is what made Star Trek different then previous sci fi shows.

---POTENTIAL SPOILERS---.---POTENTIAL SPOILERS---.---POTENTIAL SPOILERS---

I thoroughly enjoyed the premiere of Terra Nova. As well as some
great actors/actresses as well as acting, the storyline is very interesting.
An ex-cop dad hiding a third child, gets busted and sent to jail for 2 years.
Then he learns his wife is selected to go into the past and he makes his
way out of jail. (sorry, kind of skipped a bit there).

Now we're in the future with two factions, one of which broke off from the
original and is a potential threat to Terra Nova.

Along with this, there is great action and already a few mysteries surrounding
Terra Nova. Terra Nova has great potential and I hope it is very successful and
wont be cancelled, unless of course it falls of course and is no longer "relevant".

As for the CGI, I feel that it could be better, yet at the same time it does not
bother me one bit. The dinosaurs look great in my opinion. The only problem
I had with the CGI was at the beginning of the show when you're in the present
time with the wasteland of environmentally unfriendly, super large, cities & that jail.
