Tomorrow is the beginning of the May 2012 insurrection, sponsored by a Canadian activist group known as Adbusters marking the commencement of this year's occupy movement. First I must say that the original OWS will and will not be made up of last year's occupants. Yes the movement has be co-opted by " The 99% Spring " and it's sponsors.

Here is an article written in Adbusters discussing their movement and how it has been co-opted by the 99% Spring.

Adbusters.org

The clicktivists at MoveOn are channeling Occupy’s intensity into legal, symbolic rallies that bolster Democratic Party campaign promises. Check out the 80 organizations backing MoveOn’s 99% Spring: most of them are the same old lefty cabal that’s ruled over and stifled the political left for the last 20 years. But there are also some flowers among the vegetables … and we should try to get them back. Folks like the Ruckus Society or the Rainforest Action Network … groups whose bold civil disobedience inspired us all in the past. We still remember how the tactical brilliance of John Sellers, a former Ruckus Society leader, was so feared that he was preemptively arrested, charged with 14 misdemeanors, including “possession of an instrument of crime” – his cell phone – ha ha! – and held on $1 million bail during the Republican National Convention protests in 2000.

That article actually points out the failure at co-opting.

So yes, they are trying to co-opt the movement and will likely succeed.

Ohio bridge bombing suspect was Occupy member

In March of this year, one of the suspects arrested in the bombing plot, Brandon L. Baxter, was also detained when Occupy Cleveland disrupted a Sheriff sale of foreclosed properties.

Cleveland.com

"The demonstrators were conducting themselves in a loud and disruptive manner within the sheriff's sale meeting," Reid wrote in an email. "Sheriff's deputies asked several times for the demonstrators to leave the meeting, but they refused, at which time they were placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. The sheriff's office will not tolerate the disruption of a public meeting."

Brandon Baxter of Lakewood said he had no regrets for making sure people heard the message.

"I took the risk of getting arrested because I feel the powers that be, whoever they might be -- on all levels of government and those who hold corporate power -- are not listening because not enough people are actually taking a stance" against foreclosures, he said. "I was hoping that this would be a great way to get Cleveland more involved by showing the potential that a small group of dedicated people can have in making an impact. Even though we are not in any government position or in Congress, we do have the power."
