IF a World War 3 was to start

I think, IF WW3 was to start, it would be due to Palestine here why I think it will be due to Palestine. Recently the Middle East has been heating up (pardon my pun). With Palestine asking the UN for independance and to gain back their territories from the Israeli's. If the UN says yes, I think Israel will attack Palestine. Now Iran are itching to declare war on Israel so this will be the perfect excuse to attack them.

How ever, the US are also looking for an excuse to attack Iran. With America being Israeli's buddies and bodyguards they would declare war on anyone who attacked Israel. The UK would inevitabley (spelling) join in and lick the American governments backside, as per usual. Now the Chinese and the Russians, they both have had their disputes with America over the past few years and more recently China have warned the States not to sell/upgrade the F-16 to Taiwan. Also, the Chinese and Russians are buddies with Iran.

Now the Korean war. Well with the major players in the world distracted this will indefintely kick off. As we all know its been close to an all out war in the past couple of years. With the evil dictatorship in the North and the better of the half (so to speak) in the South.

Have I missed something? Yes I have. Turkey have recently turned their attention the Israelis. Infact most countries surrounding Israel have, Egypt, Inda ETC. That leads us to Pakistan. Now as we all know they just put their Air Force on red alert as they fear an attack from the Americans is imminent.

So yea, basically that is MY opinion. It may not be true but as I said, its my opinion.

People have been saying since the 1970's that WWIII will start in the Middle East and with the way Geo-Politics are out there it wouldn't be surprising.

Now whether it will be due to Palestine, I am not so sure.

The rhetoric is ramping up regarding Syria, who are allied to Iran and where there is also a Russian Air Base. My guess is this is where it will all kick off, but it is just a guess.

As I said, this has been spouted for many years and I guess there could be half a dozen states where it could all kick off.

It will be interesting to see if Turkey goes ahead with their threat to escort the aid ships into Gaza. That could be an interesting flash point, especially as Turkey are allied with the U.S through NATO.

looking at Iran very closely at the mo, i think if any of americas wars has the potential and libia doesnt do it, then Iran is going to be the one that does it.

However, almost everyone is pretty against a 3rd world war, I think it might be a HUGE war but over fast as long as we are all still alive and not eating radioactive contaminants already......... Many small nations have now got enough army, navy and air to do somthing to take part in another world war, where they were unable to before. My expectations for how it goes; is over a few months, with everyone targetting the insitgator whoever it is and crushing them with war or threats to never trade with etc.

I completly forgot to mention Syria, But yea fair comments. I actually want NATO to take the Syrian government out. Wont happen as theres no oil.

We already have a war on "terra" as Wubya called it. How many countries do we already have "military action" in? I'm worried that you just might have hit the nail on the head as far as possible future repercussions for our actions go. We are already spread so thin militarily that a true world war would likely finish us off financially. Then again, it might be cheaper for us to pay off our debts with bombs instead of cash. One thing that we can be sure of though is that our leaders will make the worse possible decisions in response to the possibilities you described. I for one, am prepared for the worst. I only wish more people would consider such a highly important topic and prepare accordingly.

You said the Palestinians want independence and their territory back. (to get some thing "back" means it was yours and it was taken from you or you loaned it to someone).

You said that if the United Nations agreed with Palestine the Israelis would attack the Palestinians for wanting to be independent and wanting THEIR territory back.

Does that not mean (by your logic), WW3 will start with Israel

Sorry for the confusion. No I don't think it will be due to Israel, they'll have a part to play but if you think about it. They would only attack Palestine if the UN give them indepedance and Palestine know that. So perhaps Palestine are instigating?

And what I meant about the territories is, Palestine dont control Gaza and another area on the border with Israel, if im correct.

Yes it is their God given right, but it won't happen because the U.S will veto the attempt. Why? Because they are in the pockets of Israel and Israel do not want the ramifications of war crime trials against them, if Palestine is awarded statehood.

Also, Israel would not be in a position to occupy large swathes of land that they currently occupy.

However, if the Palestinians were given statehood, then any rocket attacks on Israel would be a declaration of war and they would wipe Palestine off the face of the Earth. That's the harsh reality.

You just contradicted yourself in your own post as to why the U.S. will not support Israel any longer. They are alone in the world now. To stop WW3 from happening the U.S. would let Israel sail away into oblivion and sacrifice it to maintain world peace.

Not god given no cause there is no god. But by international law they do. On the other hand I think they lost the war with Israel then signed a treaty which Israel gained some territories. Now they want it back which may annoy Israel (it is annoying them) which would start a war.

Israel has been attacking Palestine for what 50, 60 years now? Israel will not stop until they have taken every inch of Palestine's land and either killed or run everyone out of the country. But if there is a WW3 then Israel will be the one that starts it and it may well be when the Palestine's land is almost all gone.

Yes, you have. The U.S. would maybe try to "bluff" Iran, but Israel does not need the U.S. help. Remember this is the country that fended off 5 Islamic/Arabic nations that tried to snuff them out in 1967, granted they had the weapons the U.S. gave them and has been giving them since, but Israel can take care of itself they have one of the top 3 air forces in the world.

The U.S. is not in a position to attack anyone, being the leader of the UN we would try to broker an armistice if it conflagrated into a war, but no, the US will not attack Iran with Russia and China backing it. This doesnt even have a remote possiblility of happening.

You're right, Israel can handle themselves but that still doesn't proove that I contradicted myself.
