Hello its Anishnaabe, just recently made my first thread, this is my second.
Today i want to discuss the Internally Silenced Ak-47. Some of you might have seen it on
'Sons of Guns' on discovery, but if you haven't, don't worry, ill provide some info.

Video 2 (Youtube videos)

Added: Also, the gun is internally suppressed, and has a silencer on the end. (Silencer Suppressor are two different means of reducing the sound of a guns bullet and its gases.)

I am wondering if this is worth getting, it would be ideal for small community ranges, military units (small barrel length, but way quieter, ideal for close combat.) You could probably aslo add a muzzle flash hider, reducing the flash coming out of the muzzle. I have always wanted an AK, most preferably a Kalashnikov. As they are reliable, im just sorting out my options, and figuring out if its pointless getting, because of the uses it should be for. (Comabt situations). Any ideas of an AK, that would be ideal for target, hunting, (different addtions, or just a plain AK with the right magazine and firing method for my country/providence.) Canada, Ontario.

Anyhow, it is a SICK gun, and who wouldnt want it?

I cant embedd, as i dont know how, the links should work. Hope you like the thread.

The AK-47 is a beautiful weapon, especially the ones with the polished wood. Count in the reliability and stopping power and it doesnt get much better. As long as its on semi-auto i think its pretty accurate as well. My only concern about the internally suppressed AK is how well do the new parts stand up to the rest of the weapon. How much does it reduce the stopping power and accuracy? How many rounds can you fire before it starts wearing out the suppressor/silencer?

With it suppressed the way it is i dont think you`ll have to worry about muzzle flash to much, and all AK`s are based off the Kalashnikov design. Wonderful thing about the AK is that so many countries started making their own and you can get a Russian stock, yugoslave barrel, chineses reciever and whatever other parts you need, put them together and it works! Need to clean it? Bootlace tied in a knot dipped in motor oil and ram it through the barrel, you`re good to go.

Now that suppressed Saiga shotgun Red Jacket produced is very nice too.

Only gangbangers who shoot their pistols sideways would want a full auto. There's a reason why any 1st rate soldier chooses to shoot semi or small burst if the weapon is not mounted to a pod or vehicle. Also as mentioned above about the saiga, did you see the suppressed mark-19? Now your talkin, a full auto, suppressed 40mm grenade launcher!

true about soldiers taking semi or small burst shots, but.............................. it would be ideal for med. -sht. range suppressive fire without giving away there position immediately. Also on your opinion about automatic fire, what about a room broom for clearing? Thats automatic, and not mounted, and ideal for the situation that its needed for.

BTW, saw the episode of Sons of Guns when they made it, and this thing is really cool.

As for the suppressed AK, I'd love to have one. But paying almost $3000 for an AK is ridiculous.

In regard to the Sniper AK, I would not want one. It still uses the 7.62x39 round which is not what I would look for in a long range weapon. Owning one would be pointless.

As per the silenced Mk.19, I would never turn away such a beautiful piece of machinery, suppressed or not.

Here's where you can get some of the Best AK's around Diavolo build's their own, Saiga's are their specialty and the closest thing you can ge to a real kalashnikov. The factory is in Izhmash Russia they are imported into this country as a sporter type , they then have to be altered to 922R compliance to be an American made AK, 7 parts have ot be changed to be able to run the high capacity magazines legal in the USA.

I see in the OP that you`re in Ontario, Canada. You should probably know that all rifles based on the AK-47 are prohibited-class in Canada. That includes the AK-47, AK-74, AKM, Dragunov, and others. You can check on the RCMP website, they have a list.

every State city and town has their own rules on owning a suppressor/silencer...

the first rule you'll have to comply with is the federal tax stamp $200
here in Kansas you also have a registration fee.... that fee is different per county and can run as high as $2000...
now personally if I was going to spend that kind of cash... I would buy a suppressor I could move from weapon to weapon... that way I only have to buy one and spare myself the cost of one per each gun...

Another thing I just thought of : if you're in Canada, any kind of suppressor/silencer is strictly illegal to possess.

Stratosfear - It stands up just as well as the old parts, he ran it through sand, dirt an water, and continued to fire like nothing. You can see in the ballistics it still went pretty far through the gel. So it didn't reduce it much.
Oh yes, that saiga it wicked.

UniverSoul- Why not? I will have a rifle, pistol, shotgun, i just want an Ak, always have.

ludshed- Haha only gangbangers would want a full auto, what ROCK are you under? 'Call me a "gang banger" then -.- '

Crimsongod- Ill check it out, it sounds like it be better. For civilian use.

allenidaho- Yes i have to agree if it only take that round. Have to be sending more lead down the rang then that

Kingarthur- thanks, ill check their site out.

Minigan- Yes i am aware, i am not planning on staying here for to long, as i want to move to a different country. (Third world)

Daddybear- Yeah, i would do the same, but to me it doesnt matter about cost, aslong as its reliable, and it will do what i want it to, and go anywhere, ill buy it.

Gah, more Magpul garbage than I can shake a stick at. Entirely unnecessary as well. Why bother with weird furniture and difficult scope mounts when the standard Com-Bloc siderail will work fine for anything inside a reasonable range with a PSO-1/PSOP scope mounted. If you want to get more exotic, there's the Iraqi Tabuk, which is based on the RPK receiver and barrel, but mounts a different stock and an optic, or the plethora of Com-Bloc rifles like the Romanian PSL, the SVD (Dragunov SVD is redundant, by the way), the Yugoslavian M76, any number of rifles.

Tabuk:

The silenced AK from SoG was cool but personally I'll stick with my MDL 700 Remington .338, my M14 EBR, or G2A. I like to be able to reach out and touch someone and don't worry about silencing since in all practical purposes all of those rifles are "silenced" to my target since they're dead before they hear the sound.

I'm not downing AK's as I've shot and owned quite a few of them and they are good dependable rifles. I would love to have the guys at SoG make an internally silenced version of my SA58 FAL though, now that I would buy.
