Thousands of customers were without power Sunday afternoon in scattered outages caused by windy weather. The strongest gusts were in Tacoma at 43 mph, Blaine at 42 mph and downtown Seattle at 41 mph. A wind advisory remained in effect for Western Washington from Whatcom County southward to the South Puget Sound region until 6 p.m. Another strong weather system will bring heavy rain and high winds to Western Washington on Monday. Up to a quarter inch of rain is possible in the lowlands. A power outage in the Queen Anne and Magnolia areas of Seattle affected nearly 13,000 customers. [color=RED]The cause of that outage was not known. High winds knocked out power to people in North City, between Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. A KING 5 viewer said three people were trapped in a van when power lines fell in the Lake Stickney area. No one was hurt. A tree fell onto Northup Way and 162nd in Bellevue, narrowly missing a home. No one was hurt. Woodinville, Carnation, and east Redmond had 4,000 people without power. On Vashon Island, 1,800 customers were are out due to a tree in a overhead powerline. There were scattered outages in Whatcom and Skagit counties.
