admin edit: Yet another attempt at hoaxing the Members of ATS that failed and cost the offending member their account privileges.

A big chunk of melted shiny metal bored a huge hole in one of our fields. Who owns it? Do I have to report to anyone? Or, can I sell it on ebay? Very exciting, but not if the government is going to confiscate it. Do they need a warrant? Help anyone?

Your farm is in the Pacific Ocean off the west coast of the United States? Is it on the west coast of the United States?

Update #16
Sat, 24 Sep 2011 05:37:25 AM GMT-1000

NASA’s decommissioned Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite fell back to Earth between 11:23 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 23 and 1:09 a.m. EDT Sept. 24. The Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California said the satellite entered the atmosphere over the North Pacific Ocean, off the west coast of the United States. The precise re-entry time and location of any debris impacts are still being determined. NASA is not aware of any reports of injury or property damage.

Well if you did find it then it's property of NASA and you are suppose to report it and allow them to come and get it. If you don't there is suppose to be criminal actions if they find out. They have also instructed that you are not to touch it.

Do you realize that the location of any debris impact are still being determined, so give the OP a break so that he coul take his time to upload his pics, if he even have one. Innocent till proven guilty!

Okay, give me an hour and I'll go to the field and get some pictures of it. My son is suppose to dig it out today. Those will be the best pics. But hold your words, I'm just telling what we found.

I wouldn't be surprised if some debris landed elsewhere, the thing was probably coming apart at the seams...

you should leave it alone, and just charge anyone wanting to see it.. even the nasa, fed dudes etc. That is the only legal way to profit off of it.
