Ok, here goes. I haven't seen the movie 6 degrees of separation, but apparently they claimed everyone in the world was connected by 6 degrees.
Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised. I shall now prove that I am connected to Queen Victoria by 6 degrees of separation.
6)
Queen Victoria was born in 1819 and died in 1901. She became Queen in 1837. The Queen is the person who bestows knighthoods upon
people.
5)
Sir George Simpson was governor of the Hudson's Bay Company in Canada from 1821 to 1856. He was knighted in 1841 and died in 1860. This
means he was knighted by Queen Victoria.
4)
Henry Bird Steinhauer was an Ojibwa Indian, who was a member of the Methodist faith. Conflicting dates for his birth/death are on the Web,
but it was from around 1820 to around 1884. He became a famous Methodist missionary.
3)
Arthur Steinhauer was the grandson of Henry Steinhauer. He is included in this 6 degrees of separation simply to maintain the link of
people who actually met, since Henry Steinhauer died before Ralph was born.
2) The Honourable
Ralph G. Steinhauer was the first native Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta. He was born in 1905, and was L-G from 1974 to 1979.
His adoptive father was Arthur Steinhauer
1)
Cecil John Henry Purves was the mayor of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from 1977 to 1983. He is most famous for bringing the Commonwealth Games
to Edmonton. He therefore would have known the lieutenant governor, who lives in Edmonton, the capital of Alberta.
0)
Me. Cecil Purves is a member of my church, and so I have met him.
Therefore, I am six degrees of separation from Queen Victoria.
