This was very entertaining, thanks for taking the time to create the game Springer and SO, it was well done!

We have a valid confirmation (we used a two-step confirmation process utilizing a unique code) that FibroKat is indeed the winner of our game!

Excellent work everyone. Watching everyone collaborate and work out the clues and solutions was, as always, much more fun than actually making this game.

I want to echo what Bill said, there were several times throughout the game that my jaw literally dropped in amazement at the brilliant analysis and "connecting of the dots" by you guys and gals.

As usual, we are left in awe of our membership.

Something told me last night to not go play farcry last night
I had a feeling we were getting close. As much as I wanted to win the prize though I am glad its going to a good home where it will truly be appreciated and can provide some relief to the people who have it. I am glad to see that people can pull together and work as a team knowing that only one of them can take the prize without becoming bitter at the end and thats the kind of attitudes we need to solve some of lifes greatest mysteries and problems. Id hate to see the team dynamic end here... how about we go find another mystery gang?

I must admit that based on the countdown timer until Oct. 11, I did not think we were that close to the final solution.

I also didn't expect that someone could win without page 18; however, that was absolutely fantastic extrapolation by FibroKat to guess that "government back" was the missing phrase in such a short period of time. I had already begun looking for page 18 instead of trying to guess the phrase! Shows how overly-methodical I can be sometimes!

And I was just getting warmed up for the next phase...

Now that the game's done can you tell us where the unredacted page was hidden as well as the page that we were missing?

The unredacted page was released via a combination of triggers, so the game players did all that was needed.

The 4.03.historic clue gave you more trouble that I thought...

Go to recent posts (the reference to "today" in the clue update as the actual filename of the page is "today.php")

At the top right, go to "ATS History" and select April of 2003. Initially the link to the journal page was buried in the results, but promoted to #1 after it wasn't discovered in the first 24 hours.

That was one of the triggers to release the redacted page.

Just so I can turn my brain off for a bit, what was "when.we.expired" going to lead to? Page 18 I assume, but what thread. I searched a lot!

Wow, very literal. I was thinking theories on previous extinction events. Thanks for the info. I'm sure others will check back as well for some personal resolution regarding what we missed, and thanks again for the game. I really had fun.

Wow, very literal.

Yeah. Sometimes "over-thinking" the clues wasn't the right approach.

Thank you all for your congratulations, well wishes and praise! I truly appreciate it!

Winning was a totally surreal experience. When the winning form popped up, I felt like I had entered the Twilight Zone!

I'm still staggering around in a daze...

So when is the next game, SO?
It's fun to have something to work on in between daily topics.
