Late 70's, Southern California. It was all about Legos and Micronauts. When that didn't work we'd play manhunt in the lemon groves and hunt lizards.

Blessed be.
Paper, pencils and paint. And books! And playing outdoors in Nature!
Not that my parents tried, but I refused to play with Barbies and those kind of toys!

Mid 90s, it had to be Meccano.

But everytime i went to my Grandma and Grandads i would always break out their old Battling Tops, the original on, they still have it, i don't even know how old it is but my mum used to play with it too and shes 50 something

Alas, i must confess. I still play it with my 8 year old nephew when we visit, i use him as my excuse to play

I can't wait for my 1 year old niece to get older so i can play more and more haha.

Also, stickums!

My favourite toys when I was a kid were taking the other kids toys apart

But seriously, I didn't really have toys as a kid, I was more into Chemistry sets, Magic sets, Electronics sets, books and computers.

I also had a football, skateboard and bicycle. Plus numerous amounts of BB gun's

I was mad for Lego as a kid. I had few buckets of it, and never failed to come up with something new to build. Usually I was bulding 2 cities on the floor, which was taking me a day, and the next day I was waging war between both ;]. When i was around 11-12 i got Amiga600, and that was is for non-electronic gadgets. I didnt thankfully became a nerd, coz I was boyscout, (more like para-military bunch of freaks ;]) so my favorite toys were my knifes.

they say that legos are the biggest selling toy,but they go by the number of bricks sold and you have to buy a whole set that contains a lot of bricks. so silly putty and slinky are tied for 2nd place (barbie dolls are 1st place) as the biggest selling toys with 300 million sold for each...silly putty > en.wikipedia.org... > and slinky > en.wikipedia.org...

over one billion barbie dolls have been sold in over 150 countries! > en.wikipedia.org...

for what its worth...barbie and me have the same birthday, march-9th.

i never owned one,i'm a guy. but i came home after work every night so i could play with them with my 2 daughters when they were little, for hundreds of hours, instead of going to the bar or a club and i don't regret a single second...i don't know wether to laugh or cry when i think about those not so long ago days...where do they go?

My favourite thing in the world was my Raleigh Chopper bike. I woke up Christmas morning 1976 to a sky blue, second hand Chopper, I was nearly 12 years old. I used to put on a pair of my dads old welding goggles and I was invincible and king of the world. Oh, what brilliant days and great memories.....

Forget your ipad, ipod, xbox, PS3 and all the other nonsense.......This was what being a kid was all about. Being outside, getting excercise and playing with your mates. Better than being a fat little loner sitting in your bedroom, twiddling your thumbs and not talking to anyone unless it's on a mobile phone or by email......

Oh, yes, the freedom of the Chopper bike.........

One of my favorite toys....was my Annie Oakley outfit........I had a western skirt with fringe and a western top to match...with a raccoon skin hat and a holster with 2 six shooters.....(cap guns).

My next door neighbor Dennis was my best friend and he had a deformity on his upper lip....that several other boys in the neighborhood made fun of. One day I had my Annie Oakley outfit on and I heard some yelling over on the next block....there were 5 boys picking on Dennis ...making fun of him and tossing him around from boy to boy....I got really angry.....and yelled at all the boys to stop hurting Dennis...then I pulled out my 6 shooters and blasted...(this scared the boys and they stood still...like they were frozen) then I walked over... grabbed Dennis...and I said....come on Dennis lets go home! (I was 9 years old at this time).

So yeah...my favorite toy is my Annie Oakley outfit.
